Had a feeling you would absolutely love opening 1, Howling is an amazing song. When it came out the second season wasn't too well received so it kinda dropped the series in people's mind, plus it's from 2007.

I'm rewatching Darker than Black at the moment, and I forgot how good it actually was. It's a short anime, maybe 1.5 seasons (36 episodes). But a anime opening you NEED to check out is (drum roll) "Bad Candy" by YukaDD from "Dolls' Frontline." I've been pointlessly asking this for a year because I'm about the only person who seems to know the song, but it's amazing. One of my favorites. Of course that means you'll probably not like it and I'll be disappointed so...

Ahhhhh... watership down. Watched it as a kid several times, took me a few watches to fully get it. Same with animal farm. Well if you want to traumatize or harden your kids, those are the right movies. Well it's a 50/50 chance I'd say. Still prefer the Alien triology tho. Even after getting nightmares as a kid and being to scared to sleep love those movies :).

Darker than Black was a good one. It is a bit older now, but I still quite enjoy it. The second season was bad though, just watch the first.

Darker than Black is the English title; the Japanese title, Kuro no Keiyakusha, can be read as Black Contractor, if you want to make any hypothesis on the show based on that name and the openings you've seen. It's definitely a great watch, though the story is known to be a bit confusing and usually needs a second watching to catch all the intricacies and info to answer the questions you ask yourself about the who and why. A lot of the story is left open to interpretation too. Some info is never given.

It's an enjoyable anime. Best things about the show for me were the atmosphere and the worldbuilding, but the action was good for it's time aswell. Plot is more of a snapshot of the protagonists life, rather than a grand overarching story, which is not everyone's cup of tea. And when you spread the snapshot into 2nd season, problems start appearing. Despite the name it's not really that messed up, but the themes are certainly more mature than your run of the mill shounen, and some might call it a bit edgy.

I'm very happy this anime's openings got suggested, cuz it is a not so known anime, and honestly, I owe it a rewatch cuz it's been years I barely remember it, I just remember enjoying it and YES I LOVE THE FIRST OPENING SO MUCH 3rd one is pretty good too second one is alright imo

I like to talk about plot vs premise because I think it's fascinating how they can make or break a series. This show had a great premise that unfortunately, the writing could not deliver a great plot to match it. It's a fun watch, nevertheless. But it leaves you feeling with a sense of wasted potential.

The original series called Darker Than Black is great. I heard the other season called Darker Than Black: Gemini of the Meteor is pretty meh.

the first opening is Howling -Inch Up- by Abingdon Boys School, a Japanese band heavily influenced by Radiohead, whose members met at Abingdon Boys School in Oxfordshire, England. The lead vocalist for this band is actually fluent in English and has several songs with english lyrics. I highly recommend them.

Darker than Black is an amazing story. Sadly though the anime adaptation fell short of the manga. Like some have said the anime left the many wanting more from the plot. I decide to read the manga and boy oh boy I realize the manga was so much more fleshed out. The anime kinda dropped the ball on this one. But Darker than Black is still a cult classic. Mind you the anime is still awesome. A lot better than some stuff now adays. But I still find that it's a hit or miss with people. I liked Darker than Black enough to read the comic because my only issue was that it left me hungering for more. I didn't feel satisfied when the anime ended so I read for more and was not disappointed.
