Here is the FULL and UNBLURRED reaction to Sword Art Online Anime Openings and Endings PART 2!

Enjoy!

Comments

Marcus reynolds-Harrell

For sword art online other than the first season my favorites are season 3 and 4

Faris K

The last music video is from the progressive trailer from the beginning of sword art online.

Eggicus Roundplumpius

Honestly, I recommend watching Sword Art Online. If you find a slot open for a longer-term show, this aught to be a contender. It's not the most amazing show in the world, but it does have a lot to offer. The music alone is incredible.

AnimeCenter

I'd say the main reason people hate SAO is the MC. When the MC is not there people are happy.

Yami Youssouf

luke its quite the opposite its the later seasons that saved the show a lot of people who don't like sword art online didnt get that far

Xaniss

Sword art online is just one of those anime that is very popular but not quite as good as something like AOT, so people love to hate it. Just like My hero academia, which is also very good but people love to hate it. With SAO the first half of S1 is fantastic, but the 2nd half of S1 is genuinely terrible and deserves the hate. S2 is fantastic and S3 is fucking AMAZING.

Xaniss

Uh, but I like Kirito lol, most of the time, I think you're taking your opinion and pretending most people think it too

AnimeCenter

I like him too but whenever I asked people why they hate SAO they always said because of Kirito.

Dancing Potato

I think you missed OP&ED from SAO Alternative:GGO... or I missed you watching it?

Yami Youssouf

sword art online is finished war of the under world is the last season, the stuff after that are remake movies based of the first season we have 2 for the remake movies for now, the last song yuke by lisa is from the first remake movie

PolishWizard

Alicization has the most stacked openings I stg

Ky0

the new guy is just the best guy in the entire anime to be honest (for me at least)

Yami Youssouf

i think sword art online is 90 ish episodes

Hikaru Kamiki

I think better start off with SAO Alicization without watching previous seasons. But, I'm not recommend it. The reason is simple. SAO Alicization which if you don't know are the season where blonde hair knight girl appear. fun fact that blonde knight girl and darkness aka lalatina from Konosuba are the same voice actress.

Ragnar-sama

For many people, including myself, 2nd half of 1st season is considered the worst that SAO presented. Season 2 was almost a complete change of the setting but it was very good, especially 1st part. When Season 3 was released I was sceptical since I found the 2nd arc of 2nd season quite boring but damn Luke, Alicization totally exceeded my expectations and that story proved to be better and better the further it goes, it is definitely worth watching :)

Corentin Fleuret

The last one was the theme song for the movie SAO progressive which is a prequel

donald cuck

i also recommend u to react to the Gun Gale Online opening, its a spin-off of sword art online. and also "rising steel" from ASCA, its an opening from the sword art online's game. u should definitly try to watch sword art online, a lot of people say its bad, but they dropped the anime too fast because of some disturbing scenes, other than that the show is 70 percent good, its not "that" dark but it has some fucked up moments, and as u can see in the openings, the fights and the animation r incredible, u might like this anime, u should try to look this up on twitch then on youtube if u like it, thats my recommandation, lemme know if yall agree with me

BlekDimon

SAO is mainly targeted at younger audience around 14yr old (except maybe Alicization), but that dosen't mean u can't like it, so sure, give it a try.

Solace Mack

Definitely would like to see you react to this one, maybe on stream as its a bit longer. It does receive hate because of a couple bad arcs, but the majority is genuinely really good. It is an iconic series after all!

dragean greyfield

SAO alternative: GGO was a spin off, with an entirely different group, and has nothing to do with the main story.

Blitz Cam

I think SAO is kinda like a show you either hate or really like. I have friends who don't like the show, because of Kirito, and other friends who really like the show, where Kirito is their favorite character. I like the show.

Gavin Wong

season 1 and season 4 are the best story and fights to watch . If you can tank season 2 and 3, it will be worth of watching sword art online. Espcially season 4 has awesome fights as well

Blitz Cam

As for the story and premise of SAO, I don't think I'll say too much about it, since I find it best probably to see what it is on your own. But you'll get a good idea about what the show is about in the first episode.

Ruukasu97

glad you continoued, if you watch i would gladly watch along

Gavin Wong

You need to put this on youtube or twitch. YOu need to watch. ignore the haters

MasterMaster

I definitly enjoyed my first time watch of SAO. It's maybe not the best of the best and has its flaws, but nevertheless give it a try. Music is fire, thats for sure.

Pilot_CT12

man I still remember when the mobile game came out, I was just laying in bed relaxing and all of a sudden I get hit with that absolute banger opening out of nowhere. They had absolutely no need to have gone that hard for a damn mobile game of all things lol

Adam Saunders

I really think you should watch sword art online soon, even though many people have reservations I really think you'll love it

dragean greyfield

If your hyped for “sword art online” you should check out “accel world”. both were written by the same author.

MrFlakey

For me season 3 and 4 made going through season 2 worth it for me. S2 was bad but the last 2 seasons are really good

Ruukasu97

the manga is finished but they are doing another season

Finito

Really I never thought so. I mean sure a lot of younger fans like it but I dont really think its targeted towards them.

BlekDimon

but it's based on a light novel, not a manga, hm? and light novel is still releasing

Ruukasu97

you know how it is, people love to hate. but who cares hating entertainment doesnt make sense imo if you love it thats awesome even of no one else does. For me personaly SAO is the best thing in the world (except family and friends)

Siffzigeuner

I think the problem with SAO is that it pushes a certain idea and goal for the plot, which then both suddenly evaporate and shift to something completly different. So I can understand that people were mad for not getting the show that SAO itself advertised to be.

Wolfe980

that last OP by lisa that felt just random and out of place was from the movie that was basically the 1st season but was focused on Asuna's POV and experiences instead of kirito's

joackim005

to answer what the last opening was. it was the first season of the show retold from the female leads perspective where we get more info about her life

Dylan Cromche

the reason the last opening felt so out of place was because rather an a continuation from the last one, that song was for a movie that is essentially a remake/reboot/retelling of the very beginning of the story from another characters perspective

BlekDimon

That's what it always seemed to me since I first watched it.

Christian Koch

The thing is that SAOs first season was really interesting with a lot at stake, but they changed the premise quite fast because it was originally written as a short story and they ran out of the "main story". A lot of people dropped it in the middle parts, which is why they missed the later seasons which get way better again. I can definitely understand some of the criticism, but pesonally I love SAO :)

10redturtles -

the opening that played at the end of the video is from Sword art online progressive, which is a movie which is basically a retelling of the first season from a different perspective

BlekDimon

Oh I remember this. I watched 4 episodes, but damn, don't remember really why, however, I absolutely hated it.

Sebastian Stróż

I love that you said "let me see for myself, maybe I will like it" and that's why you should have a day reserved for you personal pick. Something that's been grinding my gears for a long time is people calling REALLY popular things overrated or bad because they are "mainstream". This is one of the dumbest things someone can say... If it's that popular then it's doing something right, even if you don't like it. So just watch things that you find interesting and see for yourself. From what you said before shounens will be your go to, even if just a guilty pleasure type.

Arcade'owy Łowca

The most consistent is also ID:Invaded. Both opening and ending have the same, epic vibe.

Thamor

AOT most easy answer still much better than anything done in SAO. But for most of your questions WAFO = Watch and Find Out. !!!! RE:ZERO FIRST !!!

The Jojojo09

I love the alicization arc. I can't wait for you to react to SAO

Irvin Martinez

Please do Kuroko no Basket openings please!

BlekDimon

I think it's mainly the issue when very simple anime that u can watch without thinking much gets more popular than complex and really amazing shows. Imo it's what pisses people off and then they call something overrated and bad.

виина

this was my first anime that i watched and it's good. 2nd half of 1 and 2 season are not so good but not recommended to skip because afterwards you will be like "who the hell is this guy" 😄

syaimaral

Alicization is the BEST season/story arc they have released so far. Even if someone didn't like the earlier seasons, I can recommend they would definitely like that arc. It takes itself so seriously and is so heavy. The action is epic.

syaimaral

For me, that's the opposite. The mc is kind of op. So they sometimes snub his contribution to highlight the other characters. I'm always looking for him to show his badassery, so when the show gets all slow with fillers and character background exploration it really bores the hell out of me. What keeps me watching this show is the fights.

Farawyn98

So for explanation: You have different ARCS in all of SAO and there are also, I think, 3 or 4 movies. Season 1 features 2 Arcs, Season 2 also features 2 or 3 arcs iirc. Then there is Gun Gale online which I believe is basically a sidestory. And then there is also a movie called Ordinal Scale. Everything I mentioned now was featured in your first video for the OPs and EDs. For the stuff you reacted to now: Everything here, except the last song, was for "SAO Alicization" which is yet another arc where they go into another world with other chars. I think currently in the whole show they were in like 3-4 different worlds. The last ED you reacted to was for the first movie of the "SAO Progressive" movie projects, which shows what happens in the first arc of season 1 in much more detail, thats why it felt to you like "something in the middle".

Losarenci

Hi Luke! You definitely should check more ReoNa stuff. She made 4 songs for Tsukihime remake (Seimeisen, Juvenile, Lost, Believer). I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it. Link for opening 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9B282GYZqCg 'What other animes would you guys say have a consistent soundtrack like SAO?' - re:zero, 86, fate/stay night, mushoku tensei.

brad marsh

Inuyasha... Thank you

GaloTechDog

Alicization is imo the best arc of this anime. First couple of seasons are kinda meh, and just boring with one dimensional characters (except for GGO which was a little better). But Alicization was really interesting and the new characters are still the best the show's ever had

Harley Burnie

Luke, the first OP showed the real world, with computers and console, Main Girl #1 on what looks like an ocean oil platform. It seemed like you somehow missed the images of ALL the characters you've ever seen in the first OPs/EDs. And, no, the arc these covered is maybe the most beloved one is SAO. The animation when movie-level, the seriousness and stakes shot up, the new characters were LOVED, and the music was to die for. Wait.......@15:47, you said you don't really see the main characters in these?!?!? The main protagonist is just about in every shot of a few of these videos! You're not wrong about this arc being something unique, but.... @18:41 you ask about the same characters again...It has, every episode, been the black haired guy, the blond guy, and the blond girl, with the red head sprinkled through, until the last one, which clearly focuses on the redhead.. I don't understand your perspective/memory. @22:54 That's because it is the beginning. I do hope you commit to watching SAO sooner, rather than late. You will definitely love it, and you can get cleared up on them there questions.

Adam

I feel like you're not the best at recognizing characters sometimes, lol. At some point you started mistaking the new blond hair blue eyed girl Alice for the main heroine Asuna, who has chestnut brown hair and eyes.

Siege XIII

With Sword Art Online the majority who don’t like it only have complaints about part 2 of season 1 (second arc). And even that is perfectly watchable (there are definitely worse shows), so if you want to watch it, go ahead, it gets pretty good. People complain about Tokyo Ghoul for a different reason, which has to do with the poor explanation in the anime for what is going on - the deviate heavily from the manga (which in itself isn’t bad) but the already complex plot that was already hard to grasp in the manga just kinda falls apart - making the second season difficult to watch because to plot is all over the place.

Kwil

So to answer your question about anime with a consistently good soundtrack, Angel Beats is a good choice. You already listened to the OPs and EDs, but what I think you'll find interesting is that LiSA made a whole album for the show called Keep the Beats. I wouldn't watch the clips where the songs were featured because spoilers, but I'd love to see a reaction to the album.

Slipstream

Would love to see reactions to: Ergo Proxy OP Gosick OP/ED Granblue Fantasy The Animation ED High Score Girl OP/ED Iroduku: The World in Colors OP/ED Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt OP/ED Rage of Bahamut: Genesis & Virgin Soul OP/ED

Kyouma

I am so happy! I recommended the first take for Unlasting on your youtube channel when you watched Homura first take I believe. I was really happy when you ended up watching it and now that you've said it's one of your favorites has me even more excited!! I CAN NOT WAIT for you to watch this show. Thank you for everything!!

Matthew

I can't wait to see your reaction to SAO!!!

Danilo Takada

If you like the ops from SAO, you would like Mahouka's OP as well.

Iron_claw

When he said something has changed my 1st reaction was Yes it got way better.

Iron_claw

To answer your question if the later part of sword art online is what made people fall out of love with it the answer is No the answer is just no it's what made people fall back in love with it.

Ian Campbell

Sword art online is definitely a great ‘my first anime’ kind of show. I highly recommend it for the fight scenes and emotional development of characters tho!

Ian Campbell

Closest to most consistent banger openings might be Black Clover 🤔

SkyMina

i hope we got to watch SAO again together

o k

true, i don't like black clover but every opening are good

Eric Brose

Black Clover op and endings are all pretty catchy. Agreed. The op and endings of demons slayer aren't bad, but the music in the show itself are some of my favorites. Probably only behind AoT.

Amadhe

Saying this again, I’d love an SAO Reaction from you eventually!

Daithirian

I'm wondering if there isn't one more OP/ED for the latest SAO Progressive movie "Scherzo of Deep Night" out there... Ah yes. Eir Aoi's "Heart" or "Shinzō". I don't know if there is a video out with the SAO animation or not though. I'll also echo the Gun Gale Online op/ed. It's a spin off of the 2nd seasons 1st arc of SAO. Nothing to do with the main cast of the SAO series other than reusing a setting that the series pretty much ditches after that arc. Love it's OP. Another by Eir Aoi named "Ryusei"

Kosumi

SAO's soundtrack really is a tier above a lot of other anime soundtracks, if not the top of the tier list. If you're interested in an english cover of the opening songs, I'd highly recommend LeeandLie (amalee). I was obsessed with her version of the third opening, Ignite, for a long time when I was younger. My favorite LiSA song is the first SAO Opening, Crossing Field. It's super nostalgic to me, as SAO is one of the first anime that I watched to completion (at the time at least, I'm a few seasons behind now) Edit: by the way, and I hope you don't consider this a spoiler, your interpretation of "it feels so real now" is spot on. No idea how you interpreted that, but I was amazed

TheWhiteWolves

Gotta say I do find it fun watching you try to puzzle out whats going on basically multiple seasons/arcs into the anime from the openings, they really do change, especially if you count the spinoff anime season (recommend watching that aswell when we inevitably get to SAO)

Kot Bajun

I was in the camp that dropped SAO during those “disturbing” Season 3 (Alicization) episodes. Characters felt boring to me and the plot too thick and un realistic. I liked the initial seasons though, even sleepy knights and all. Dynamic, mostly simple ideas, action, emotional shi., etc.

Kot Bajun

P.S. Do check Gun Gale Online opening/endings. It is a spin off, but music is good and the show was fun in my vocabulary.

Frentzy

Alicization gets better after like "alicization part 3 or something". Basically once you get Kirito being an adult in that world, that's when stuff finally start happening and it's quite good (even Garnt agreed with me). They did waste a lot on alicization, only for ppl to drop at the start, and the end was good af, even better than s1 part2 and s2 and the spin-off. Alicization second half was second to SAO s1 first 14 ep.

DefinitlyNotHana

To me most people dropped it during the elf arc. Personally I find the Alicization arc to be the one that reeled me back in. Alfheim (elf arc) I mostly lost interest in the show, but it was what 'you have to watch right now' so I stuck with it. Glad I did, Alicization was worth it. Unlasting best OST. ---------- For the last ones, they did a recent adaptation telling the story of the main girl, so you get her 'point of view' on the first season. As such the story is far from complete, but it takes a while to adapt the light novels into anime ;) We get one every couple of seasons so far.

Katerflori

SAO is pretty dark from the beginning if you really think about what's happening and get immersed in the story! I love it for that reason. Also, SAO is insanely consistent in term of music! For me something that gets close to it are both Hero Academia and ReZero if you count all the instert songs because those are what make ReZero so much better Song-wise :D

RextroyerX

I will just say, SAO not only has one of the most consistent OPs/EDs but has one of the most beautiful (not as epic but more like emotional) OST i have heard so far. The OST songs are on point throughout the whole series (maybe more on the early seasons) and have gotten me crying many times. If you are interested, you could listen to the OST made by Yuki Kajiura. I tell you, it's 100% worth it.

donald cuck

well the 2nd part of 1st season might disturb the young audience, other than that the first 14 episodes r pure shonen type of stuff

ChosenAnimal

Anima Pure fucking peak holy shit, been my top song on Spotify for past 2 years Jesus I can never get enough so beautiful

Jeido Tengoku

I would really love a SAO reaction of you. I cant help it, you are just my favorite reactor xD

Eetu Ravaska

Sao first seasons first half is 9/10 second half 6/10 last two seasons are fucking epic 10/10 i also loved second season where they go to gun world and some ppl hated second seasons last half but its my favorite it shows how much good this tech would do to our world too 👌

Raziel

20:51 HE SAID THE THING!

Renagale

I hope we can all work together to vote for sao

Renagale

Second season second half was mothers roseario which I'm pretty sure everyone loved it's the best part of the show imo

Gabriel Pires

I kept laughing at Luke's confusion regarding the third season hahaha I agree, with just the openings and endings, the third season's story is hard to understand without any context, but what I can say is that it is NOT a prequel. It takes place after the events of the second season and the Ordinal Scale movie. It will make sense once you start watching, which I highly recommend you do!

James Collins

If you every start watching sword art and it’s not in dub I’ll make it my life’s mission to shut this channel down there I said it

kingslayer201721

This is a very rare moment where I actually think someone should watch this show, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but after seeing your slime reactions I think you’d actually like this one.

Would love to watch your reactions to SAO episodes it has it's downs just after the first arc, but it'l gets so much better and for me it's very enjoyable and a really good show

MIce1987

The last song is from a movie that retells from the beginning of Sword art online from a different perspective.

MIce1987

I would love for you to watch Sword Art Online, I think you would like it.

Darion Elifritz

It is not finished. There will likely be 5 Progressive movies, and Unital Ring has already been confirmed to be starting next year. Reki is not finished with the light novels yet.

axilir21

He's going to watch it right after Gate, so this week or the next one

Chyro Nighthowler

I know I'm a bit late, but HxH 2011 has a very consistent soundtrack for the openings :)
