idk, but if I had to guess they consider Asia and the middle east the central world and then Europe Africa and the America's as the west. Interestingly New Zeland and Hawaii would probably be the closest to what the consider the east

I would imagine that Japan sees itself as an "Eastern Country" that has / had to compete with "imperialistical western powers" like Russia,Briten,France,Germany and the US for domination of land air and sea in a struggle for supremacy, At least until the end of WW2. I dont think it has something to do with an actual Position on the map since Australia and New Zeland would still be at some point part of the "Western" British Empire

The one problem with the anime is the introduction to Judy Reyas (Short haired Glasses woman that is a co-worker to Maho). They never develop her character, introduce her and have her pop in like twice and then have her disappear for the rest of the series. This is why I believe the anime was made with the intention to watch it after you've played the steins;gate 0 game.

I feel so bad for saying this, but I have to. Steins;gate is my fav show ever, and I was extremely happy that you did the watchalong.(that also was the reason I subscribed the Patreon.) However, I got so pissed every time you read the comment without pausing it and missed lots of dialogue (which you said you didn't, but you just did miss), then keep going. Some of them are really important, so I just feel a bit disrespectful to me or other audience, even the show. I don't know if you will see the comment or not. I'm here to advise you cause I just can't help but typing this. You didn't focus then we didn't either. I still like you content anyway, just this stuff made me kinda disappointed.

The custom emojis that the crew use are for a special messaging app that Daru made for everyone called Rine. This is a parody of the actual real text messaging app that is popular in Japan called Line, and they released these emojis to help promote the SG;0 game. In the original game, the choices you made to decide the story were done through emails Okabe could answer or ignore on the phone, and in SG;0 they updated it to this Rine system to make it more modern, where it serves the same purposes of emails in SG;0. They still sell the SG;0 Line sticker pack on the Line store for $0.99, but it was free for a few months in 2015.
