Lycoris Recoil is an original anime series, so it is not based on a manga or light novel like most others. It's uncommon for an original anime series to receive as much popularity, so just by that you can infer that it's pretty good. You should check out the OPs and EDs of Urusei Yatsura (2022) for some light, fun tunes.

The Spy Family ending didn't spoil you and your read on the show is pretty spot on. The show is honestly just a very fun and chill ride. Lycoris Recoil I would highly recommend as well. I don't want to spoil the plot and tell you what its about though. That show is best to go in as "blind" as possible IMO.

I honestly did not know lycoris recoil was "big." I watched it and thought it was alright. I enjoyed the dynamic between the 2 main characters. I would have thought summertime render would have beaten it as a hidden gem of 2022.

I also wouldn't consider Lycoris to be big either, more like it was just very very solid as a series. Like an 8/10 but with virtually no cons.

I think the biggest issue with Summertime Render was that it was stuck in Disney jail for the entire two seasons it aired in the states. If people didn't hoist the black flag and sail the seas, they missed out until it was finally available on Hulu a season after it already was complete.

Just dropping by comments again to name drop bakemonogatari series and it's plethora of excellent opening songs sang by the persons the arc is following. 25 Ops in total averaging a new song every 4th episode in the series. It'd have to be a patreon only thing as they hammer down on copyrightss pretty badly I think though.

Seen lycoris recoil people do say its like a jhon wick but with cute girls but i dissagree it is a lot about fighting crime but main plot is about main character and man i have to tell you chisato is the best grill of 2022 for sure ! :) amazing show i was recomending it for twitch watch but none of my submissions came throught so well :)

Well yeah ofc if u compare them to hyped anime like AoT, CSM, Bleach, or Demon Slayer, etc. They are not as popular as them, but if u exclude those hyped Shounen Anime, then I think they are pretty much up there, just below Bocchi the Rock and Gundam (in terms of popularity, and if I forget more popular anime in Winter and Spring then I apologies. But you got what I mean).
