Omg omg omg finally, all of my requests in last few months were not for nothing 😭 Thanks for your reaction!!! I recommend you to watch this anime, it’s so lit, a top tier show, in last 10 years I’ve watched over 500 anime, but out of all this shows Golden Kamuy is in my top 20… or even top 10. The plot is great, the setting is great, the humor is great, the drama is great, all the characters are sooo great, it’s all so interesting, sad and funny, I love this show so mush

This show is about Japanese soldier Sugimoto, who has gone through Russo-Japanese war in 1904 and made himself the name of “Immortal”. He is looking for gold in Hokkaido rivers to pay for expensive treatment in America for his dead friend’s wife who is loosing her sight. And one day he meets a girl who is from people of Ainu, which is ethnic minority, mostly in East Russia and Japan. And she tells him a story about Ainu man who killed other Ainus and stole a humongous amount of gold. One of murdered Ainus was her father and she wants to avenge his death, and MC needs gold. So they’re uniting to find out who was this man and where is the gold. And for that they need to find prisoners whose bodies are covered in tattoos of a map to the gold, which was made by the man who killed those Ainus. And this how it all starts

This anime is very similar to vinland saga with its historical side and bloody fights. I love this anime for its gory fights, good story, and most of all, I find it absolutely hilarious. Definitely something I would recommend you to watch.

the main guy is actually a ex solder from the Russo-Japanese war from 1905 and the main girl is Ainu the native people to the northern islands on the archipelago, the anime is a hunt across northern japan for pieces of a map that lead to a secret store of gold.

Colonial Japan, not US, in particular Japan's colonization of the Ainu land on the northern island after the Russo-japanese war during the gold rush there.

If you liked the third op you’ll love all of the hitman reborn openings it’s not a dark anime but genuinely one of the best of all time, I highly recommend it.

Definetely a show you would enjoy: Historical setting, great action, good mix of dark and mature topics/moments as well as lighthearted fun and shenanigans. Also quite educational in a sense, you learn a bit about how people and especially the natives of japan lived in that time, very interesting. Since you liked the openings i'd recommend checking out the endings too. they are awesome as well

Luke, the band My First Story who performs Op 2 is led by Hirouki the younger brother of Taka of One OK Rock. The female singer teaming with them on the song is a young indy superstar named Sayuri. You've heard some of her work in the past openings and endings you've done. You've actually heard Man with a Mission (op 1 here) before. They did the song Database on you Log Horizon Openings video. Their lead singer did a fantastic anime ending for B: The Beginning with Marty Freidman of Megadeth. It's called A Perfect World. Marty has done 2 versions of the song, one with him and another with a fantastic young lady name Alfakyun on vocals.

I'm still on Season 2 but Golden Kamuy has already cemented itself pretty deep in my mind. I love it so far. Episode 1 and 2 has some odd bear CGI but the animation everywhere else is really solid and the show has a vibe to it that's hard to beat A surprisingly funny anime with a great antagonist and a good plot
