Not many people remember Daz and Samuel, they were minor characters in season 1, basically the normal recruits who were freaking tf out, not really impactful, but still, fucking sucks

When Anne said unlike us you wouldn't have broken the wall that day and Reiner remember Eren. He was remembering the fact that he told Eren that Anne and Bert wanted to go back but he insisted on breaking the wall because he wanted to be a hero. When he spoke with Eren, even said Im just like you. Essentially, even though I know everyone is against what I want to do and it might not be an ethical thing to do I will do it anyway. So Eren and Reiner are alike. Also...Connie's scream is so haunting. Daz and Samuel didn't want to kill them. They had every opportunity to do so and didn't. They even shot Armin as a warning because shooting connie would actually kill him but they new Armin would recover. It's funny though.. they shot Armin, the person who always wants to talk it out in the mouth. Essentially letting him know the time for talking is over.

It took me awhile on my first watch through to realize that Daz was the guy Historia rescued in the mountains, and that Samuel was the guy in season one who fell off the wall when the colossal showed up and Sasha shot him in the leg with her grapple to catch him. And honestly, Magath is one of my favorite characters because of how he is written. His actions and words never matched until this episode. He would speak about how Eldians are devils but I think that was just because that's what was expected of him. But when he reunites with Gabi in Shiganshina, his first instinct is to embrace her as a father would his own child. He was clearly beside himself with worry about her safety

We saw Daz a few times back in season 1 and 2 (I think he can be seen briefly earlier in s4 as well), he's the guy that Ymir and Historia dragged along atop the snowy mountain. He also freaked out a couple of times during the Battle of Trost. Samuel was the one that fell from the wall in s1 when the Colossal appeared and got saved by Sasha.

You need to react to the Mikasa OVA when you get finnished with these last two episodes. It is cannon to the Anime and might end up being really important

That's why right after remembering what Eren said, Reiner told Mikasa Armin Connie and Jean to stay back, because in some way he was willing to protect them from having to kill friends ... Reiner is my favorite character in AOT forever and ever

I mean, it allowed them to get to and secure the plane and in position to secure the engeneers. Sure they had a hard time killing their friends, but they secured their goals without losses on their side in a situation that that was otherwise unlikely and are in a stronger position when the real fight breaks out which would have happened anyway. Sure the plan paying off all the way was extremely unlikely and didn't work, but a good plan achieves something even when it ultimatly fails, and this plan did just that.

Connie's English voice actor did a really good job in this scene as well. In general English dubs tend to fall short with things like cries of anguish, but the VA really managed to pull it off in this scene. They actually did a really good job all around with the Dub on AoT.
