I think the reason why Eren chose to tell everything to Floch and not his comrades is because he knew they wouldn't agree with his plan to genocide most humans.

Rich

this dude really hates the pause info cards

Lex

Floch is literally the only person Eren could trust, cuz all of erens comrades only Floch would support the genocide plan, Floch used to hate eren cuz he think erwin is the devil they need to save paradis, but when eren himself turn into the devil, things just fit in what Floch wanted.

Madara_Uchiha_2022

Yo bro don’t you dare slander King Floch is like the second best character in the Final Season after Eren of course 🤴🏻😂👑

Thomas Juino

the stew with a lot of potatoes was a reminder of potatoes-girl we miss so much... And for your other question, i should have already find your answer in the two next ep ;)

wildhunt1973

Luke can't because if he did, his timing would be off with the premiere of the "movie" episode that comes out in March.

TheReveredNinja

Nah, I definitely can't stand behind Eren. Killing countless people for the sake of your friends will always be wrong. I'm with Hange. Mass genocide is just wrong.

Some0neElse

Floch is the Joffrey of AoT for me... I just love to hate the guy but it kinda makes sense why he turned like this. He is the sole survivor of the suicidal charge against Zeke. The terrors he faced twisted his mind. Also the show has very big rewatch value as after watching it once and go back all the way back to episode 1 we start noticing the forshadowing and teasers (like in some scenes we can see a hooded guy watching from a distance and theres theory that its actually Eren going through the memories and guiding stuff to happen exactly as they happened

syaimaral

You're a bit wrong. Eren already had a plan when he went over there, the plan was already in motion before the tybur speech.

Holidor

Go back through the show, any time Mikasa and Jean are in the same room, watch his eyes. He's always paying attention. It's the source of his conflict with Eren.

Hugo

Isn't there a theory about the hooded guy being the one who gave Eren the knife to save mikasa or something like that?

BellsRing

I like the point u had about the memory wipe, never thought of it that way

Markus

You only like him because he's helping your favorite character, otherwise you would absolutely hate his guts.

Eduardoff

I do not agree with Hange in that speech at the beginning.. I still firmly believe that Erwin would have been on Eren's side , and deep inside, Jean is too

Daniel Griffiths

nah screw that all the good characters are safe on paradis.... the rest are tainted by evil ideology, even if their saved they'll just stand up and kill the eldians eventually.... kill them all i say end the world wars and start again with a fresh slate, the later generations will be better off for it. talk no jutstu wont fix the AOT world, mass genocide and death to all titans is the best option for lasting peace.

TheReveredNinja

Okay, if we are ending the world and starting with a fresh slate, then just kill all the Eldians (like 5%of the population) and let the rest of the world live (like 95% of humanity) Boom. That ends the war with Eldians since they will be gone. Anddd, it has the added bonus of eliminating the titan power which is just a curse that has slaughtered countless throughout history.

Markus

You're aware Marley and other countries have been killing and conquering each other, regardless if they're Eldians or not? Like we see in episode 1 of season 4? Which mirrors events from our own world history? You think mass genocide is wrong, but you don't seem to mind the genocide of Eldians. So you just expect a whole race to just accept their fate and die, because people they don't personally know want them dead?

TheReveredNinja

I expect a whole race to not come to the nonsensical idea of committing mass genocide. Eldians like Hange are right. Eldians like Eren are wrong. There is no great answer to fix the AoT world, but killing children in Onyankopon's country is definitely not the answer either. There's way more out there than Marley

JonasK19

you are so biased towards Eren haha :D but I was too on my first run through the show. My perspective changed a lot tho after a rewatch. I bet your´s will too.

Markus

But you're fine with the rest of the world going to genocide the people on Paradis, which was Willy Tybur's plan? Sure it's a lesser genocide, but a genocide nonetheless. And you expect the people on Paradis to accept all of this, even after having fought off titans for a century? Of course Eren is taking things waaay too far, he could've probably just destroyed their military and secured Paradis' safety that way. But it seems like Eren wants 100% certainty that people won't try to genocide them again.

JonasK19

also dont forget it wasnt a split second decision by Eren to attack Marley. He told Zeke that he saw the future after kissing Historia´s hand. That was 4 years ago. Yet he went through with it having years of planing and thinking.

TheReveredNinja

I mean, if genocide is the only option, then genocide of the Eldians would be the way to go. That's less lives lost. Of course, I don't want that either. Avoiding genocide overall is the best route, but I'd rather the overall world live, than just a small island of people. I just can't get behind Eren at all. Like his mom died. Big sad. It comes down to the fact that Eren is just a psycho who cannot control his emotions and is okay with slaughtering innocents. I like the Eldians, but I hate Eren.

PKS

The want of a single person against everybody else is not good. They could have used the power to bring peace also and tries something else, but yeah the story will keep going on like those boring Animes.

Markus

His mom isn't his sole motivation, just so we're clear. It's the fact that eveyone and everything he cares about will get crushed by the mainland, just because they're afraid of the Founding Titan's power (The Rumbling). They tried to pursue peaceful options for 3-4 years until Eren decided to set his own plan in motion.

TheReveredNinja

Yeah, and that's further proof that Eren just cannot control his emotions. Of course the Eldians are in an awful position, but that's not an excuse to kill off the rest of the world. Eren has always been really angry and irrational. Going to very far extremes. The rumbling is Eren incarnate. Eren's anger used to just be annoying, but now it's deadly.

TimelessOrb

That scene reminds me of the saying when adults fight kids get hurt

Nepherenia

Let's be real tho, this specific info card here was probably one the most worthless of all. Many of the others give technical info about equipment, or background about an area, something at least mildly relevant to the plot or world. And then there's this episode: "This stew is made with potatoes. Wow!" Luke's take on this infocard is spot on, lol

Darío Ruiz

Well... i'll lie if I said I was not interested in Hange's Stew. But I have a culinary arts degree so xD

Rich

That's true. Though Attack on Titan has always been a little quirky and he's emoted like that before to previous info cards. I'm just being an asshole though. I enjoy his reactions.

LireKlein

Floch is a great character IMO, if you take the viewpoint of the Islanders: either you kill the rest of the world, or the world kills you and everyone you love. You've got kids, I'm sure you can understand why someone would be willing to partake in genocide to save their loved ones. And in that case well Floch is just doing the "dirty work" nobody else wants to do, he's a ruthless leader who has no problem killing the problems before they arise. One of my favorite lines of attack on titan is from Bertholdt: "Someone has to do it, someone has to stain their hands with blood" , it applies to everyone in this show, they're all ready to stain their hands for their goal, Floch is no different, he's just on the other side. Oh and I'm sure Floch has some sort of survivor's guilt from the suicide charge against Zeke, the charge of Islanders against the world (even if they didn't knew it at the time). He has to end it for them since he's the only one remaining.

Brooke Ackerman

Floch is garbage bro gtfo with your stupid “king floch” shit he literally is nothing lmao

Markus

I would agree with you, but my problem with Floch is that he seems to find pleasure in killing people (even fellow Eldians). That's where his character falls flat for me, I don't think they've actually shown that he actually cares about others, he just seems to enjoy the power he's been given.

Dethrox

How is Floch any different than Eren ? :D also lots of characters killed lots of people in this show.. suprisingly Armin too.. hating Floch for this make no sense to me.. :D not saying Floch is like my favorite characters but i dont dislike him.. also the lady at the end.. isnt necessarly a great person too.. all she care about (well i guess expect mikasa) are money.. another typical greedy person you find pretty much anywhere.. :D not saying she is bad or anything.. or that i dislike her :D just saying :D

Matthew Zazueta

Its like that episode in Malcolm in the Middle where Hal has to choose between disconecting a guy in a coma or letting him live to see if he wakes up. You guys havent seen a third option. When you come to realize Eren likes birds the solution is so easy.

Elijah Wheaton

is it safe to say that the runner up in the poll will be watched after the winner?

Lusanagi17

I think there'll be a separate poll for it when the time comes, but something that got second place is a good contender for first place then

Nathan S.

It's so easy to forget, its hard to remember. Most take the easy way. But when it comes to a common goal.. humanity prevails? equality of power is what saves the world from destruction. Also, basically Yelena is the fan girl who made her way into the main group. (The Luke mid scene info sarcasm is still strong I see ;)

IntoVoid

I want to know more about the stew!! Can we get an entire episode of only stew please!

Madara_Uchiha_2022

Not really. All the info cards has been in the manga for ages and there’s a reason to why this was included because MAPPA stayed true to adapting the manga properly

josh

because the problem with Floch isn't the fact that he's killed people, the problem is his ideology

Erin

the timing of the hange’s stew slide kills me 🤣🤣 it’s on par with the horse elevator one during the reiner/bert reveal 🤣🤣🤣

B

THANK YOU for giving a legitimately accurate opinion on Floch. He is 100% dangerous, pretty much Paradis Islands version of Yelena. A literal embodiment of fascist, incel energy. And for so many people to be like KINGFLOCH is a huge red flag from the fandom for this series. Can't wait for the next episode!

2023-04-27 14:08:18 This episode is so masterfully written. No big action needed, when having all these characters together, you would never imagined to somehow working together. How they talked about all the cruelties made it one of the most memorable moments of the series <3 And Hanges Stew IS important!

even if not for the memory wipe the argument can sill be solved with... "what about now? that was 2000 years ago... when was the last time anyone from here came after you guys? Its YOU bothering US for something that hasnt happened for 2000 years.... you clearly won the war and we learned our lesson if weve left you alone for 2000 years, so leave us alone too"

FullHeart

Armin was always saying "none of us have even tried talking this out" and in this episode people finally talk and they actually all get along. Armin was always right. It just took the end of the world for it to happen, and will never happen for the rest. If everyone could just talk it out itd be fine. But they wont

Nyarlathotep

Lol floch saw an entire regiment get taken out by zeke and his commander killed.

Sean

I've been thinking ReZero for a while for him. And then he said "they should just restart from zero." I was like "its a sign, he needs to watch it".

Sean

I actually like Floch in this season. I don't agree with what they're doing, but from their standpoint it's "us or them" so I totally see why he'd pick Eldia

Sean

But in Erens perspective it's either the genocide of the world, or the genocide of Eldians. So he picked his people to live

Sean

(Don't think you read Comments on here Luke, but if you do don't read mine, it has spoilers for last episode) The final episode of this season seems to indicate that Eren was willing to give the world a chance. They went to see the meeting about "saving eldians" and saw their slightest hopes dashed as the meeting was about saving "good eldians around the world, but the evil ones on Paradise must be killed". That's when he walked out and went on his own. He was sure that the world would never stop coming after them.

Saiyo

Correction: they didn't leave them alone for 2,000 years, only 100. Still, your point is valid that NONE of the people within the walls came after them in those 100 years until Marley provoked them.

David

It’s true for the 2 first seasons, after that we don’t see as much, but well it’s great that his love hasn’t changed after 4 years

David

He has the right to like whatever character he wants, you wouldn’t like if we insulted you and your favorite character so don’t do the same thing

David

After the last episode in this episode I think Luke is capable of seeing the future too 😂 he said « it would be a big irony if Mikasa were to be the one that blows the last blade » 🤣

ArtKi

27:03 "Levi is always injured" It's SUPER-COMMON for a writer to have an over-powered character that HAS to be nerfed so that there's actually a story with tension. I recall one series of fantasy novels were the main character was ABSURDLY over-powered and the lengths the writer went to in order to nerf him in each book was so over-the-top it was funny.

Zorgot

we need the stew backstory
