Yep its Anime only ... and in such a way that it would be hard to reconcile with Novel ... since the Novel is near its end ... That said it may be reference in one of the newest Spinn-off manga - Claymans Retry ... since both the movie and the manga are written by the original author ... In contrast the last Episode of Season 1 is also anime only but its written in such a way and covers such events that it is considered cannon ...

The book doesn't refer to Geld as a Demon Lord but as a Demon Lord Seed. The best guess as to the reasoning for this change is that they didn't know if they were getting a second season. It is an important distinction.

Rimuru gives Great Sage control because he has this huge number of skills now and doesn't know how to really use them but Great Sage who functions like a supercomputer does. As the fight goes on Rimuru figures out how to win using the only skill he really has a firm grasp on Predator.

For the Orc Rimuru combines the Japanese word for yellow and numbers counting from 1 to 150,000. EXAMPLE: Yellow One becomes Kiiroi Mono or Yellowone becomes Lerōwan.

2023-05-09 05:45:01 The fight with Dwargo is to show the viewer that Rimuru isn't overpowered and honestly, he never has been. He beat the wolves with human intellect he did beat the Ogres with strength but Geld only lost because he was a newly born Demon Lord Seed and didn't have most of his passives yet.

There's more to the conversation that happened before Milim went to Tempest but it was mostly just talking about Rimuru's fight with Geld describing the other Demon Lords as they arrived (it's from Claymans POV in the book) a brief discussion of why they can't just go to the Great Forest of Jura because of a treaty with Veldora and then Milim explains why that treaty is now void since Veldora has disappeared and is probably dead.

Something left out of the anime is that Milim has been sparing with Rimuru and his main fighters during her stay in Tempest and they get a lot stronger as a result.

Milim was bored, Carion owed Clayman a favor, Frey was brought in by Milim to Clayman's annoyance, and Clayman had a specific goal in mind. So no they all weren't just bored. All of this was explained in that meeting earlier in the book.

Changed for the anime for some dumb reason but Youm and his men are convicts who were told if they did this mission they would be freed but they knew the Nobel was lying. The guy with the glasses is meant to be their handler but they turned him over to their side.

The fight with the armored spider is more fleshed out in the book with Youm and the Adventures fighting it for a while before Gobta and his wolf riders show up and even then Gobtas group has a little bit of trouble taking it down.

Here's a scary thing from the book Milim does learn restraint from her time with Rimuru and it actually makes her more powerful as previously she just fired willy-nilly but now she focuses her attacks.

The anime really does downplay Milims intellect. The volume she's introduced in is mostly focused on her and we get to see her inner thoughts so she is smarter than she lets on but she also has a child-like mentality and is a little bit of a spoiled brat which lessens after she meets Rimuru who stands up to her.

I hate that they cut out Rimuru becoming a C Rank Adventure and learning to summon Demons. They sorta show it in the season 2 opening but still.

Not sure why the anime made it out to be a mystery in the book Shizu says outright her journey was to save the kids but in the scene in the anime they have her dance around it and come up with a different motive.
