I don't think it's really that japan cares more, just that dubs almost always suck regardless of anything else, if you listen to spanish, french, german, etc dubs of anime or any english show they all suck as well, dub VAs get paid in pennies, directors for dubs usually don't care for the show at all and are just paid to get it localised. And that's on top of the original made with the original actors in mind and the VAs working directly with the creators of the show, whilst dub VAs don't, dubs just suck, yet the voice acting in Arcane and the cyberpunk game are both great. Also most people are blinded by the experience they had first, which is why people sometimes say OPM or AOT has a better dub, it's usually because it was one of their first anime and they watched the dub first, also happens with every big netflix anime since netflix defaults to dub for some reason, the language a show was created in is almost always the way to go.

@chrissquid not true, ive watched many shows where the english is much better. take death note which is my fav anime, for example, where dub IMO is better. and in general no dub I've seen has ever been bad so idk where the dub hate comes from cuz like I said, there's no reason for it

Alright Luke here's some clarification for some things regarding cyberpunk and aot, spoiler free of course: Cyberpunk: the spinal implant David has is called the sandevistan. It allows him to slow time for himself, making others see his movements in a flash. Yes, spider eye dude is voiced by the actor for Gus from breaking bad/better call Saul. Choom is equivalent to "dude", which is why you hear many people being called that. Arasaka can be seen as the "big bad wolf" the rich corporate company who only cares about their money. The whole thing about David and fizzy drinks isn’t really important. It’s not uncommon to be sensitive to carbonated drinks, my dad and sister hate pop because it’s hard to drink for them. It’s just a small detail in the show, but it could signify David’s current lack of strength depending how you look at it. Aot: the Tybers control the nation of Marley, however they allowed Marley to have control over their own military, which in doing so caused Marley to become a dictatorship, which is why Willy said the Tybers are responsible for sending them into darkness. Falco, Gabi, Zophia, and Udo are all competing for the armoured titan. Colt (Falcos brother) has already been chosen for the beast titan. Zeke only has one year left in his term, which will end with his death as we know from the 13 year rule. Not too sure about the armband colours, but from what I understand, grey armbands are for regular Eldians, yellow are for warrior candidates (Falco, Gabi etc), and red is for Honorary Marleyans (Eldian by blood, but those that are Warriors like Reiner or Zeke, and their immediate families). Reiner is Gabbis cousin, with Reiners mom being the sister of Gabbis father. Other nations hate Eldians because Marley uses their titan powers to conquer those nations. The Marleyans didn't attack Paradis just for war, the Marleyan nation was running out of resources, as well as the power of their Titans beginning to fall due to other nations developing anti titan weapons. To counter this, Marley is trying to conquer Paradis for the resources as well as the founding Titans powers. Another reason was to see how the king would react, and whether or not he would unleash the titans in the wall or not. Falco is not related to Eren and Zeke.Remember Grice? He's the one who introduced Grisha to the restorationalists, that scene where Grisha asked about his scar, and Grice explained its proof of him being a part of the restorationalists. This led to Grisha also joining. Grice was Falcos uncle, a restorationalist leader, not related to Grisha or his sons. As for Mikasas bloodline, her mother was an Oriental and her father was an Ackermann. We don't really know the importance of Orientals at this point. The only people with royal blood we are aware of are Historia, Zeke, and Dina (grishas first wife, who is now dead). Reiners titan looks a little different because he doesn’t have a strong will to live, so his titan isn’t working at full capacity. He simply forced himself to transform just this one time, hoping it might be his last as long as he can protect his loved ones.

Not really on topic of cyberpunk, but I just had an absolute neuron activation. I remembered Zach B did an Steins Gate song named Rewind, and it could really hype you up for when ur going to watch the anime

While there are some subpar dubs, particularly in older anime, most anime from major studios in the past 20 years have had dubs that are arguably as good as the original voice actors. Just look at the mainstream anime that are frequently used as the gateway shows - AoT, Death Note, FMA: Brotherhood, One Punch... they all have dubs that are arguably every bit as good as the original voices because the larger studios are actually starting to care about the quality of the dubs for foreign markets. Yes, there are still big production shows that have dubs that are significantly weaker than their original VA's (looking at you, Overlord), but they're becoming an increasing minority. The anime fandoms should acknowledge when we get quality dubs instead of just shitting on them for no reason other than elitism.

@Ravagerr If you've never heard a bad dub then I have to imagine you've not seen many dubs at all, or just aren't familiar with good voice acting? Not meaning in a cocky way that's just the only way I could see it, and no, I said the voice acting in many english original shows and games is great, because of course it's not English = bad, it's dubs = bad, usually. Dubs just have a massive disadvantage from the getgo
