Kind of a cool trivia sort of thing, The upcoming episode episode 17 named "Hero" spent time on IMDB as the #1 highest rated television episode in all of media. It even reclaimed it's number 1 spot a second time over a year later. As crazy as it sounds AOT really does just get better and better

So that scene with Marco was Reiners breaking point. After that he was unable to cope with his guilt so his personality kinda split into two. A warrior and soldier. For a while he actually believed he was part of the people who line the walls and forgot his real objective

The reason they keep saying Bertholdo in the show is because Japanese doesn't use the letter 'd' on it's own. They have 'da', 'de' and 'do'.

My guess why they waited is because Reiner signalled that they are all in the same place, one easy win to wipe out the survey corps

My recomendation will be always 86. For me the show is one of a kind. A really good and dark story, perfect direction, same composer as attack on titan, nice animation. In two words: PERFECT SHOW.

Berthold pronounciation: Japanese is a language built on syllables like sa si su se so, ta ti tu te to etc. They dont have short constant sounds generally like we have. Thus names like Berthold becomes pronounced Be-ru-to-ho-ru-to. They also dont differ on L and R, and pronounce it somewhere inbetween our L and R sound. info for public disclosure pop ups: They come up when its a japanese commercial break when its aired on TV. Thats why it pops up ”randomly” in the middle of each episode.

So the first half of this season isn't fan service, it is extremely important. Several people have explained before how this series drip feeds key plot details that you have no chance of spotting on a 1st run, well 1st half of S3 is loaded with that. Don't over think this comment, don't question too much right now, it is time for big naked people fights. Enjoy the ride until, Spoiler No Spoiler, the basement.

Information tips are points where ads would start, so you can't count them as cliffhanger's it's just half point of episode. But AOT truly has the worst cliffhangers, but you start to appreciate them at some point, you have it still easy a lot of here watched these episodes once per week and sometimes episodes got delayed so had to wait 2 weeks for another.

So the best way to pronounce Bertholtd's name in English would be something like Bare-told or Bare-toldt (pronouncing the d and the t this time). The reason they say his name that way in the anime has to do with how the japanese language works and not with his name. From my extremely limited understanding of Japanese, I believe the way the language works is syllables always end in a vowel sound, and you don't really see two consonants back to back without a vowel sound in between, so Bertholdt wind up pronounced Beru-toto. An easy to see example is a japanese person would pronounce "Dragon" as "Du-ragon" because they need to add a vowel between the D and the r

As many said before, japanese language is basically vowel/consonant. And the "L" in English often turns out as a "Ru" (る/ル, pronounced like a mix between ru and lu). So, japanese people translate foreign names but with their own alphabet, in which foreign sounds don't exist ! So for Berthold it sounds exactly like "Be-ru-to-ru-to" (ベルトルト written with katakana) You can fully trust me as I am learning japanese ;-)
