Great episode, I won't give any spoilers but the blood on Mikasa's face wasn't hers it was the female titan's, and titan blood evaporates away.

As far as the Mikasa steam goes, titans dissolve into steam. What happened there was she got titan blood on her face and that's what was coming off

I actually think it wasn't that Mikasa got injured, I think the reason why her face steamed is because she got the female titans blood on her face while cutting her to shreeds. We learned that this Blood is pretty hot, therefore would steam. But as said, just a guess.

Correction, Titan blood evaporate in contact with air, Makasa has Female Titan blood on her and it evaporate, making steam ;)

To answer your question about the speed of the gear, I can highly recommend the YouTube video by "Nerdist" about how realistic the 3D-Maneuver-Gear is. He comes to the conclusion that the gear to make the movements in the series possible has to be about a speed of 30m in 0.5 sec (=216km/h =45G). And this is about the maximum amount of G force a well trained human body can resist in a vertical direction without lethal damage (ONLY VERTICAL direction, if you want to move up or down you have to go much slower, because the body cannot resist such amount of G force in up/down direction). So all in all they are in general about 100-200km/h fast with the gear and if someone could create this gear in a way thats easy to handle so you hit the spike hooks where you want them its technically possible even in real life. The only Problem that remains is to make the gear easy to handle. :D

This really is genuinely one of the few shows, anime or otherwise, that only ever gets better. Season 2 is better than season 1 (even if it's the shortest season), season 3 is even better, and season 4 is insanity. Kinda jealous of you getting the journey for the first time.

The first half of S3 is kind of slow though. Second half is much better.

After finishing season 1 you should watch the 'No Regret' OVA, it is made of two episodes, after that watch ONLY EPISODE 1 of season 2. Then watch the 'Ilse's notebook' OVA, then you can watch the rest of season 2 normally. Trust me, this order of episodes will give you the best possible watching experience.

The information cards appear at the middle section of the episodes by the way, because it's the commercial break slot for the TV airing, you will see this in a lot of anime shows.

lol, i thought you figured something but dude the titans and their blood evaporates once they are killed or injured. by now they have shown multiple times people covering in titan blood with steam and soon the blood evaporates.
