Okay fun fact regarding the "photo-esque" / "normal" looking titans. A number of the titans throughout the series are actually cameos inserted by the Manga-ka of various people who worked with him on the manga, show, and I believe a couple of the voice actors too.

The good thing is, everything makes sense once you get to the answers. The feeling of all the confusion untangling and pieces of a giant puzzle falling into place is incredible. I hope you can get through them confusing episodes and follow the plot as well as you can - it's absolutely worth it!
