I know I'm reacting to this over a year late, but around the time the first or second season first aired there was this INCREDIBLE free fan made video game online were you could play as different characters fighting titans. It used the ost for music and was so intense and scary. I'll see if I can still find it. I think there was even a multiplayer option where you could fight titans with your friends online.

Unrelated but that scene where Franz's girl friend is trying to resuscitate him was SUPER edited from how brutal it was in the manga. His entire lower half is completely missing from the torso down. You can still kinda make it out in the anime when they pull out to the medium wide shot, but it's a lot more concealed and easier to miss compared to the manga. Also another thing they toned down from the manga is that the symbol Mikasa was embroidering with her mom, was originally being branded/tattooed onto her wrist in the manga. Just a fun fact. :)

There are 2 official games, Wings of Freedom and AOT 2, which are a lot of fun and really well done. The first game covers the first season, with some bonus missions at the end teasing season 2, and the the second game covers the first and second season from a custom character's POV, so there's some changes to the story since you're considered another survivor of Shiganshina. The second game also has a DLC that costs about as much as the game itself, covering the third season in an episodic kind of way, with each mission being from a different POV. It also adds a sort of non-canon Conquest mode (can't remember the name they gave it) where you're the commander of your own regiment, tasked with liberating areas outside the walls.

You're right about this show being pretty heavy 😬. I watched 2 seasons of it years ago and loved it but didn't pick it back up later because I heard it just got darker. But re-watching it with you makes it way less scary, lol. 😂 So thanks!

I think if they immediately gave you closure on what happened to Eren, it wouldn't be as satisfying. I love the slow burn. It allows you to process the emotions you're having with the characters too.
