Welcome to the Pain 8:55 Welp 13:41 he isn’t in charge 13:41 his boss called him to tell him they just made that decision. The glitch was the effects of the new timeline Vivy created coming into play This episode hurts so much, at the end Vivy had the blue “blood” of the ai and the red human blood on her hands

Muligan Shinzuo

Everyone is sus to Luke XD . Don't forget Luke is a fantastic judge of character :P (atleast not in anime). Btw did you not get a HUGE f-ing sword. I am not marries but i also would choose a big sword instead of a ring.

Some0neElse

This episode is the definition of "Well... Fck!"

Potter889

Vivy is truly such an amazing anime. You know what else is an amazing anime: the Monogatari series. With Luke's love of Bunny Girl Senpai and its dialogue, it is finally time to get Monogatari for the next Patreon exclusive with its even more fantastic dialogue and character writing.

Jan Negrey

I hope that next pick is less of a punch in the gut for Luke. Sadly many of the "best" series have a lot of emotional drama with them. It's what makes them good. But there are degrees. I love this Anime to bits, but damn it hits hard.

Ara Araragi

25:46 The show left out the dialogue subtitles here (thanks, Crunchyroll...): Matsumoto: "It would be reckless to go any faster!" Vivy: "Accelerate!"

Patrick Jacobsen

yeah, that ending had me sitting with my mouth agape. I've seen many dark animés in my time, so I should have seen it coming, but yet I didn't. and btw, yes I do love the squirrel updates.

Ali50

It's been a blast re-watching this series after all those years with your reactions and even if I just remembered either the setting or main plot points of some of the arcs ... the end of EP6 was stuck in my brain as a HUGE emotional gut punch and now i remember again why. The last scene hits so hard especially how they talked about how the mission is the most important thing for an android. And now Vivy has literally both their blood on her hands because of her mission to make everyone happy. I still find it strange that Vivy never got the attention it deserved. I think it was mentioned either by Gigguk or Mother's Basement in one of their (Top) Anime of the season videos as a "special recommendation to keep your eye on" at the time but seemingly nobody else talked about the anime or hyped it up. Even in my circle of vivid anime watchers I am the only one to have watched and recommended it.

Ara Araragi

Reminder that episodes 8 and 10 have after-credit scenes. Also, don't skip the ED when you get to episode 10.

mohal

It's only one season because it was a side project, a cooperation between Re:Zero author and WIT studio.

mohal

Thank you Crunchyroll, always and forever. Sigh

Thamor

I never understood why last episode (ep5) had the title that should truly belong to this episode as it's all about the opening song in the story of these 2 lovebirds and Diva's main song. Well toughen your heart as this story isn't over yet.

Thamor

Yeah Vivy should have gotten more respect, like it's on par with Violet Evergarden as shorter story with good animation + story

jdoggivjc

Kakitani wasn't getting the motive behind Diva's actions - yes, her mission is to make people happy with her singing; but she can't do that if everyone's dead. Which leads into how this episode ended. Her song brought Mr. Saeki the ultimate despair to the point of ending his life, which led to her breakdown. Sad, but yes - this is the best episode to date.

Obscuremango

Just remember the person who wrote the story made rezero. Just let that sink in.... .. that explains this episode and ep1 and how dark and shocking it is

古河渚

Yeah, I don't remember all that well but that might've been the episode that made me give Vivy a 10. It's gut wrenching, bittersweet, as you said, just sad. I might've been crying a lot when this ep dropped I don't really remember, but I vividly remembered that last shot of Vivy. Truly a breathtaking show. From this episode onwards I'm basically going blind aside from one specific scene, I forgot about most of the second part of the anime save for the very end of it. Hope you enjoy it all ! (Still hoping for Sound! Euphonium as next music anime reaction, I hope the day happens).

Obscuremango

The one episode where skipping the op hurts. You hear her sing the op song that then we noticed and went; " oh shit! She's singing the op song, sing my pleasure!"

Obscuremango

Don't skip ed for ep 8 and 10 so you can be prepared for the post credit scene. Also you should react to all the full songs, some you never get to hear in the anime like the one in ep1.

Obscuremango

That one guy has had years of practice to shoot, since ep1 we've seen him come back time and time again. He is probably fed up this one ai is always turning up

Kyle

The fight scene with Elizabeth in the space hotel arc and the ending scene of this episode are what I remember the most about Vyiy.

Subaquatic Toaster

Classic Luke. Pauses the show. "Maybe that's not Grace!" *Text on screen* "She's not Grace".

Rem is best waifu

You know it is a good episode if Luke is crying, not amount of squirrels can keep the emotions in check. Btw Ophelia next episode, I am excited.

Marc Lucksch

This was the episode that made me love this anime.. I liked it before, but this one pushed it over

Please react to a stand alone movie between series, like you do on Twitch. There are several iconic anime stand alone movies, peak cinematography. Many also influenced not only other anime makers but also Hollywood (big productions). Here are some recommendations collected from a discord brainstorming: Akira Ghost in the Shell Grave of the Fireflies Ninja Scroll Paprika Perfect Blue Redline Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust

Lu C

Please let us vote for the next Patreon exclusive. One of my suggestion: Ghost in the Shell SAC - cyberpunk, detective story, has several AIs, OST by Yoko Kanno 🔥🔥🔥

Daniel Golas

If the cube ai actually tampered with the virus, then I would be more inclined to believe him. There is not a greater eye opener than to have an ai driver island turn hostile. If anything him trying to stop it is more suspicious, he even wanted to stop fight between human and ai when they were attacking in the last episode, yet he couldnt give a less shit about human lives. Itc clearly because having ai fight human is really bad for ai in the future. Theory: if vivi didnt interfere, then scientist would be Captured, they would take the virus and use it which would turn the island hostile. Authorities would noticed destroy the island and ai would be deemed dangerous. Cube did know from new future that island is gonna turn hostile but didnt know why, thats why he wake up and went to shut down the island before this happens, thats why he checked the virus just in case.

Harley Burnie

20:20 Nah. I get it. This arc messes with me bad. It never gets easy to brush off what this doctor and his porr wife had to lose. Also, that ending.... hot damn, it is morose af!!" So glad you're reaching to this series.

KFP Prophet Bardwyne

This episode's ending broke me first time I watched it... pain. People talking about Patreon exclusives, so I'd love to see Girls Band Cry, Gushing Over Magical Girls and Monogatari!

Kyle Garrett

[First Time Watching] This episode is beautiful and tragic. Dealing with love and loss, sacrifice and carrying on someone's memory and wishes, and about what it is to be human. It's heart breaking to see how this all ended. I do wonder what this means for Vivy. She's massively expanded the scope of her mission, to the point that suicide is like a failure of her mission, so I'm curious what that will do to her and what it means for the story.

Kenra

It’s pretty long but would like to see you react to “A Certain Magical Index”

Markus Wallin

First time watcher here. Wow, it sure does seem like one man hurt more than he intended does it not? He shutdown the island, which caused the death of humans and forced Vivy to end his love. And then he killed himself which does seem to have hurt Vivy as well. I am not saying that Dr Saeki is as bad as Dr Thomas Midgley Jr, but he sure had some negative results...

Iron_claw

I love this episode so much. Because it makes you feel so uncomfortable. Cause you don't know what to feel. Cause you're feeling so many different emotions all at once. It pulls everything out of you. Your morals, your ethics, your heart, your soul what is right and what is wrong.

Harley Burnie

2214 I love her surprise when Matsumoto finally calls her "Vivy" instead of "Diva." Idky, but that is damn impactful.

Harley Burnie

Great reaction, Luke. I look forward to the rest of your pain, dude.

Arcade'owy Łowca

what the cube saw was the end execute program. But what he didn't check was the robots Diva was inserting the program into. The end program turned into if [this is used] then do [this] on the robots console.

kiwi

The part where M said "It was given to me by kind people" fucking killed me. Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot about the ending. I am ashamed to say that I burst out laughing the first time I saw it, because bro did kinda do that over a bunch of ones and zeros.
