I would like to add (answering your comment on Tanjiro and Inosuke strength) that their Final Selection generation is outside the average in terms of skill, mindset, and raw strength.

Put some respect of Murata's name, he merely defeated hundreds of thousands of demons before he entered the spider demons territory, he also was paired with lousy swordsmen that held him down, he's indeputedily the strongest in the show, I know you haven't seen his full power yet, but anyone can easily tell by just looking at him. In fact, he was supposed to be the main character of the show, but the creator deemed he was too strong, so he was made into a side character that's never allowed to reveal his true strength whenever he's on screen, just to make Tanjiro look better, he's truly a tragic character. If you read this far, all jokes aside, Tanjiro just haven't reached the threshold to move up a rank, he's still a new demon slayer and he needs to do more missions to up ranks.

I love how Water Breathing has a form that kills demons without any pain. When Tanjiro noticed that Mother Spider had surrendered, he instantly switched to that form to give her a peaceful death.

Also, for season 2 the best way to watch imo is episode 1, then the movie and then skip to episode 8 I believe it was. Inosuke VA is Matsuoka Yoshitsugu (the same as Kirito in SAO) and Tanjiro VA is Hanae Natsuki (Same as Yuuki in Slime), they are different persons Luke haha

Longtime kenjutsu/iaido practitioner, and I always thought it was funny that they exactly translated "kesa-giri" into "monk's-robe cut," and then Tanjiro exactly explains what the move is for Inosuke, who otherwise just sees that move as "slash diagonally down and to the left"

Yeah they do like throwing away the lives of Demon Slayers and those who tried to become one. Hmm I do wonder why they have a lack of skilled Demon Slayers 🤔 There many reasons why people say that Demon Slayer story is simple. Ironically you kinda pointed one of them out, the thing that makes it simple is the thing that makes it not basic. It follows a set formula: Get a too tough mission, somehow make through it, kill the demon, throw in a tear jerker back story to get symbathy for the demon, have characters get really injured and show them healing. That is the structure of Demon Slayer. Thankfully at a point it stops giving every demon a sad backstory. And no I am not a hater, I love/like the show for what it offers, but I can also see its flaws (which makes it not a masterpiece, while still being a really solid anime). My ratings for the anime by season's (plus movie) are: 8/9/9/7/7

imo people who get annoyed by you or anyone else disliking or not taking Zenitsu seriously (like you said he feels like a comic relief) are hypocrites. NOBODY liked Zenitsu in the early arcs. The constant shouting and cowering makes it very hard for him to be liked and thats the whole point. You are supposed to be annoyed by his actions but at the same time to have a glimpse at his potential. To be fair i still dont fully like him. As for another anime that would make you feel for the bad guys - there are plenty of those. You can see this in animes like Naruto, My Hero Academia, Vinland Saga, Attack on titan and many more

***SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE*** This is one of my favourite episodes from the first season, and you touched on why that is. The way they make not only the characters in the show but the audience as well hate the Mother demon for just casually getting rid of her "dolls" by killing them like someone throwing out the trash, to making us feel sadness and showing her accepting her death as a way to be released from the pain and suffering she's trapped in is amazing. Watching Tanjiro who, only minutes before was so overwhelmingly angry with her that it made Inosuke quiet down and follow along, seeing her accepting death change his form mid-flight from one that would surely have caused her death to be painful to one where she felt nothing but a warm and gentle rain as she passes, has never failed to hit me no matter how many times I watch this.

I think this was the first time Luke didn't get annoyed at the flowers because he was so caught up in trying to figure out who the Kizuki is. xD I actually had a thought that I never really considered until now; this mountain is already pretty scary, it's night time, you know there is at least one demon on there, and lord knows what else... IRL you go into the woods at night and hear something behind you, you're probably going to get AT LEAST a little spooked. Now imagine with SUPER hearing? That alone kind makes me pity Zenitsu, and kinda gotta give him props for still being there and not turning around to run away. And as someone else in the comments said; our trio are "fresh recruits", Murata is their senior and has enough experience/killed enough demons to have gotten a promotion.

Honestly. Much like Luke, i am not a big fan of Code Geass and Death Note either. It's really just a matter of personal taste. Some people just prefer the more straight forward shounen anime.

When you think about it, Nezuko had to be put under a spell to see demons as family while Tanjiro always had that kind of character, as if under a spell. And he feels her despair, that she does not wanna be there. We will understand why later, of course.

You shouldn't worry too much about zenitsu. I know you've gotten some hate about disliking characters before, but you are being A LOT more positive towards zenitsu than most. I could not stand the guy up to this point, but he's steadily grown on me.

I think the reason why people say the writing is simple is because its a traditional Shonen/heroes journey kind of story that they have seen a hundred times so it comes off a bit predictable. Even though that is true i will counter argue that it is executed extremely well and written extremely well even for that being the case.

Soon.... SOOON! I always love Tanjiro there at the end. He was gonna go for one type of attack on the mother, but at the last moment he saw that she was embracing the release of death, so he changed his move and gave her a gentle, painless one. Despite how angry he must have been when she broke the necks of the other Slayers, he still felt that compassion for this vile creature. Screw all the haters, Demon Slayer is an amazing anime!

Zenitsu is meant to be the comedic relief. This was published in a shonen magazine, the the story is a bit too dark and serious for the publication. The people reading the magazine actually thought demon slayer should be cancelled since it didn't fit the type of stories they wanted to read. Which is why Zenitsu exists (and the reson he is popular in japan). And why he gets progressively less screen time as the story progresses. There just isn't any need for him to show up when ppl are already hooked.

The writting of the story may be a little simple, but ALL the caracters are well develloped and the social interactions are well made in Demon Slayer, i never think it was a mid anime just carried by its animation, DM defenitly is a great anime in a lot of points And i too love our boar Inosuke, he's just a sassy boy who want to be the strongest x)

It's Chuntaro!!! 😎 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that they hinted to Inosuke's sense. - The aura when he used Spatial Awareness. - The direction and destination of his skill when the Camera zoomed back to him after detecting the Spider.I.L.F. - and maybe the way he dodged the attacks?

people say the story is simple.. not the writing, and yes you do care about the demons but the overall plot is pretty straightforward and nothing surprising. For example youve seen FMA Brotherhood, Attack of Titan and even Death Note, as far as story and writing can you tell us that Demon Slayers come CLOSE to what those shows pull off in the story/writing departments

I think part of why she was able to kill these people like it's nothing is because in most aspects of her life, she didn't have any control whatsoever. It's something you often see in real life domestic violence cases: The father beats the mother and the mother then abuses the only people she has any amount of power over: irl usually the kids. In this case the situation was so bad in her "family", that she preferred dying over continuing to live with her abuser.

I swear the first time I watched it, it didn't feel that dark to me. But rewatching it, made me realise. This anime is dark af. Looking forward to the reaction to the best episodes in the series

So the way I understand it (I could be wrong) but the only reason tanjiro and inosuke and zenitsu are the lowest rank is because they only just became demon slayers. Everyone starts as the lowest rank and as you kill more and more demons and depending on the strength of the demons you kill then you rise in rank. So just because that one demon slayer was a rank above tanjiro doesn’t actually mean he’s stronger than tanjiro it just means he’s probably been a demon slayer for longer and tanjiro hasn’t risen in rank yet.

I am not easily annoyed by characters and zenitsu is by far the most annoying character I have ever seen (or heard) in television in general. Same kind of feelings where it doesn't piss me off. Just not a fan of his character at all.
