If you want some really deep, dark and mysterious Anime: GHOST IN THE SHELL (movies 1+2 and both seasons of the series. The other movies, the life action movie and the new series are okay, but not as good) GitS is a realistic cyberpunk setting in the near future that is far more grounded and authentic than Cyberpunk2077. The protagonists are a specialized police team of the inner security and often investigating corruption and really mysterious cases. After nearly 20 years of watching Anime still one of my all time favourites.

I would just like to add that these movies and series inspired many other animes and also western cinema. They also don't spoon feed you but let you think... + they are highly rewatchable

the best thing when they eat takosen in this ep is fact that animators actually scanned real takosen and put it in anime
