This season is definitely overhyped. My rankng for arcs goes 1. Aincrad 2. Mother's Rosario 3. Phantom Bullet 4. Alicization 5. Dance of Fairies 6. War of Underworld

But if you sped up time in full dive doing all those tasks, doing hours of activities in just minutes in real world times, your mind would start aging faster than your body, eventually getting out of sync. I don't think it works like sleeping, you wouldn't actually get rest from it.

It was mentioned in comments on other posts last week that the stream on Twitch was acting up last week, and after trying for a while to make it work, he ended up canceling the stream.

Spoilers below for War of Underworld Don't understand how you can like War of Underworld. To me it just seemed like every episode was "oh no. I'm losing, ill unleash my will power and get a massive upgrade for 1 battle". And how the hell were the GGO avatars they brought in at end stronger than Vecta?

Never seen Alicization, but pausing 13min into the vod to put out my theory about what this season could be about. So S2 ended with the med tech that was basically long term immersion in VR, and Kirito had connections there. Kirito is working on his own tech too. Then the movie (that everyone said to watch before this season) focused on using people to create AI, but also on removing memories to do that. Well, if you can remove memories, what stops you from adding them too? I think this is a new VR tech. Like a pod you get into for life support while you do long term VR sessions. I also think it's a full life simulation. So it's a weird thing where you get false memories of your 'life' there, you have your adventures, then when you're done the tech removes and stores those memories or suppresses them so you effective have a double life kind of thing. I'm assuming the reason the kingdom is surrounded by mountains they can't pass is because this is an alpha / beta test of the tech, so the area they're in is very small due to low player pop and to ensure everything can be better monitored and controlled. I'm assuming Kirito is there because he's involved in the project, since I don't see him as a player choosing to get 'trapped' in a game again. As for how they get out of a game they think is real, I'd assume there's like a timer or something. You log in for like a week, and when that week ends it ejects you kind of thing. Will be curious to see if by the end of this vod any of this is correct, or if i'm way off.

Oh yeah and I just remembered the weird end scene with the villains in a control room, so I guess they probably are going to use this stuff for evil, like inserting memories into people to control them or something like that, cause apparently no VR tech can be created without evil masterminds xD

I watched Season 3 as it was airing on CR back in the day and I was super annoyed at how much black there was in certain important episodes. I could sort of understand what was going on but it really ruins the impact. Maybe for that one episode he can react to the uncencored version somewhere else?

Wow my guesses weren't too far off the mark! Time compression instead of long term capsules kind of makes sense too I guess. Like it's horrible for gamers, but for pretty much every other application imaginable it's kind of amazing. Didn't expect the soul stuff, and him being stuck in the game because of an injury (we assume) is not what I expected, but so far this has been a pretty good first few episodes! Really interested to see where this goes.

People in Europe and America have long forgotten that the invention of new technologies has always been a risk for humanity. Therefore, they turn everything into censorship and limit themselves. I really liked the first half of this season. Unfortunately, the second half almost completely ignored all of the rules they had established for that world. It kind of ruined all of SAO for me 😭
