Honestly I have been reserving any comments until this episode. We now begin. A lot of season 2 is world building, information dumping and plot lines coming very close to converging together towards the grand ending. It was kinda understandable being 50/50 going through them, considering I feel like there are things you may be confused about. Patreon comments were fun to read though, watching the slow loss of hope of some in the reactions was funny. Regardless, great reaction, looking forward to next week man. -ulq

1:18 look there are plenty of anime where I'd be 100% in favor of skipping recaps(Naruto/One Piece) but not for Code Geass because they are very short and even when they don't reveal any new information the exact phrasing used often prompts you to think about important details and connections so I do not recommend skipping them. 9:05 That is indeed a very strange Pizza 19:46 She was not, Sayako the Japanese ninja/Maid was the one that attacked Ohgi, who appears to be perfectly fine now 27:35 This moment between reverted CC and Lelouch is super sweet 29:50 Honestly I think its pretty normal to be lost in the middle of Season 2 when you don't have the full picture of where its heading. I certainly was the first time I watched it, and in my case that was not helped by the fact I lost track of the continuity by missing some episodes or parts of episodes. 30:40 It is a really humanizing scene for both Lelouch and Suzaku. We are officially in the rising action its time to strap in for the rest.

They did explain what happened to CC's memories at the start of this episode. She has reverted to the same state of mind she had BEFORE she made her contract. As far as she is concerned she's a little slave girl with no concept of any technology. Also the WW2 Analogy is not perfect but to an extent works even more with it being a far reaching future. Technology has always had a way of ramping up faster and faster. Back in the 30s and 40s if someone came out with a new plane design they'd have to fabricate it and test it which could take quite some time. NOW we have much more expediated production lines and ways to test calculations on computers. While the technology they were dealing with in the past was simpler to develop it also took a lot of time to create. We can do things much faster now in less time. Also given the amount of moving parts of the UFN took to come together Kallen has been captured for more than a week so Lloyd has had quite a bit of time to tinker with the gurren and think of new ways to improve it.

I personally think Hazbin Hotel is more suited for Patreon, but worst case scenario you can always use the footage for YouTube if you deem it suitable enough, but you can decide that at your risk after watching a few episodes. The nightmares have not been improving that fast, it may seem that way because of how they are introduced, but new nightmares has been in development for a very long time, it's just we see the first time it's used on the battlefield. Also they already have the tech for a lot of the stuff, it's just implementing it, which will make improvements and developments way faster.

Hi Luke, about the next anime for Patreon, how about something in the Cyberpunk or Science Fiction genre? I would suggest Psycho Pass or Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex or the classics Cowboy Bebop or the original Trigun. Regarding the constant evolutions of Knightmares, this is the most common trope in the mecha genre that is generally motivated by toy and model kit manufacturers like Bandai. 99% of mecha animes are sponsored by Bandai and it's always the same thing... The mecha toy from the first season is released and then new upgraded models come out as the anime progresses to explore the desire of compulsive collectors.

i recommend you anime Great Pretrender, it's made by WIT studio. the same studio made attack on titan season 1 and 2. and didn't take season 3 becaouse they made this anime. it's very good story, and you'll never expect the next episode will become.

Recommendation for future shows: Claymore - only 1 season, 24 ep, fantasy, action, female cast, swords Black lagoon - 2 seasons + OVAs, all 29 ep, adult cast, multicultural, set in a fictional crime city in Thailand in the mid 90s, great English dub, crazy action, some topics can hit hard Also maybe Ghost in the Shell SAC be better here than YT, but the nudity it shows is very mild - could be solved with little blur, but the OST might an issue - 2 seasons + 1 move, 53 ep, cyberpunk, specialized cop unit For movies: Akira Ghost in the Shell (1995)

I don't know how you'd react to a show like K-ON! but it's such a special anime for me so if it could be considered for patreon I'd be happy. I think having some variety in the reasons for anime appearing on Patreon (beyond just cheeky scenes) would probably be a good idea too.

Not gonna lie, feel free to hate Nina but at least personally it does get grating that every time she shows up there's a diatribe about killing Nina. Especially if something important is happening in that scene. Like say.. Lelouches enemy now has nuclear weapons and that fact is totally missed because "someone shoot Nina"

Glad that you liked the last scene Luke. That's one of the reason Lelouch is one of the most loved MC: he's a very human character despite all the theatrics and badass appearance and his big brain: he fucked up, he made mistakes, he got desperate, got cornered (like in this scene).

Oh for sure that was what I was getting at. The analogy is not perfect but is still relevant to this situation. And yeah over the course of the show its probably been around a year and ahalf given milly graduating and where we are now so a week is not a fair assumption lol, but luke is bad with time unless we see characters grow or a timestamp. That being said they are mass producing some of these innovations like the float tech being integrated into more knightmares or other vessels which is to be expected of ground breaking tech once its been on a prototype for a while.

Throwing out a few recommendations for a patreon reaction luke. Kill la Kill; It's one of your brothers favorites nearly no other reactor does it due to it not being youtube friendly and its a fantastic series. Kingdom; I'm not actually sure if this needs to be patreon exclusive as there's not really any sus fan service but given its subject matter and what you'd imagine happens to cities being raided it might actually be not youtube safe? Anyone help me out with this? Also you've discussed wanting to watch a battle epic series for a while. Dorohedoro; Lots of mystery and violence. This was the opening you saw with the guy with the reptile head and the mushrooms its very strange but very good. Psycho-Pass; At least season one even if you drop it after. the first season has tons of blood & mystery and it would be right up your alley. Kabeneri of the Iron fortress; You've seen a few openings to this, It's best described as AOT on a train. Fantastic visuals and a pretty gripping story. While not at great as AOT its also much smaller so its not a huge time investment. Honorable mentions to; Black Lagoon, Claymore & Gantz

I want to see Elfen Lied (the show with the unique OP). There are many good suggestions, like Evangelion, but Evangelion is such a foundational anime I think it would do better as a YouTube series (I expect it to be very popular). Elfen Lied on the other hand fits the Patreon spot exactly, and it's only 13 episodes, so it would only take like 1.5 months to finish

Just watch the anime that didn't win against Code Geass. Bocchi would be a good change of pace, Goblin Slayer definitely fits the bill of Patreon only anime and Monogatari definitely needs a watch, especially since you enjoyed Bunny Girl Senpai.

For patreon exclusives you could go with music anime like bocchi the rock, it's also a bit more chill. For sci-fi i'd recommend Psycho-Pass, i remember it being really good. Higurashi could also work, it's a good story but you have to give it time, and artstyle may look dated for some.

My recommendation is absolutely Symphogear. It is loaded with so much music that I couldn't see it being anywhere else, and this has the voice actors singing a huge amount. I really, REALLY recommend Aim for the Top: Gunbuster! for your next mecha anime. It is incredibly well written, beautifully animated and very influential to not just the mecha genre but to action anime as a whole. It was recently added to Crunchyroll and is only 6 episodes long and a great introduction to studio Gainax. There is some nudity in it, so yeah not super YouTube friendly. Also, the sequel Diebuster is also very good and very different.

I love Higurashi no Naki Koro Ni. The end of the first "arc" really threw me. Great horror mystery, and I think Luke would enjoy it. Probably would not do well on YouTube, and some of the more messed up scenes might not suit that platform.

The only problem is that your mouth might open so wide you could hurt yourself. 15:10 Ref the arms race. Instead of WW2, a better example would be the current Ukraine/Russia war were drone (land, sea and air) is developing at lightning speed. The drone environment changes on a weekly basis.

I think after season 1 someone gave them Notes that said "more upgrades" because season 1 didn't have that many. The numerous upgrades were my biggest annoyance with this series, and I'm a guy who loves kick ass mecha when they get new upgrades, but these just came too quick and often in season 2.

Lelouch swinging at an scared, submissive C.C., just because he loses his temper like a dockhead sometimes...it's emblematic of his continuous loss of control when his sister is on his mind. Tbh, Code Geass could have reasonably just turned out a total tragedy, having Lelouch lose everything because he went full siscon emo one time, and everyone died.
