Regarding the relationship between Nazarik (Demiurge at least) and princess Renner, it's not your fault the anime just skips loads of stuff randomly. At this point of the story it was already revealed long ago in the novel (if I remember well) that Renner has a deal with Nazarik, and that the human they were forbidden to kill during the incident in the capital was Climb, a condition from Renner. That's why they talk about it here as if it was obvious, but it actually isn't at all in the anime which never explains anything (damn it lol). Same for the Thirteen Heroes, I'm surprised they never even mentioned the basic of that past conflict, especially the two most important characters from it, the hero and the demon king. Regarding people that could challenge Nazarik, you forgot about ep1 of season 2. That dragon and that old woman knew Yggdrasil, and seemingly already dealt with players ("that one seems to be evil" was in the dialogue).

If you want to start with light novels, Overlord and re:zero are the 2 main LNs you need to read, they offer so much that was left out from the anime it's crazy

2024-05-02 01:48:43 I mean Demiurge's connection to Renner is pretty obvious even without being told directly, I certainly had no trouble inferring it as there was no other explanation. Climb was obviously the "exception" that kept Shalltear from attacking (because it wasn't Brain and the other guy with them was a nobody), and Demiurge knew information that was only known by the 3 major political players that had that discussion together AND it was updated in real-time as new information came to light. It was very easy to put 2 and 2 together.

Catching up on these and tbh I'm surprised when picking out a title for himself we didn't get a Title drop and him calling himself 'Overlord'. Though I guess maybe he needs to conquer more kingdoms / empires before that can get used.
