WIP Day - MOCAP / Skinshader (Patreon)

This is a humongous leap of technological upgrade for Lustgard.
So, we decided to make these news available to all tiers of Lustgardains.

Finally Lustgardians! Finally the suit is here and operational!

Part 1:

It is hard to describe the thrill and sense of wonder that hit me when it arrived at my doorstep. This was a dream come true, to be able to wield such power as a single person. Truly a extraordinary time to spawn on this earth.

As for the unboxing, the packaging is just stellar, you can really feel the level of quality Rokoko have required for their products, the cables are soft, fabric is very strong and flexible, the sorting and boxes are top notch.

Now to the techy part, the Rokoko studio Beta has a free plugin for blender, a plugin that sends its mocap data feed directly to blender, this in turn is being read by nothing, until you set it up in blender correctly. Here You have a new tab to link the bones according to their target names, so Thigh bone goes to Thigh bone in auto rig pro etc, after doing this with some trial and error since ARP the rig has many different kinds of bones, I managed to get it working... Sorta.

The suit needed to be calibrated properly, and a measurement of our Mocap Actress needed to be done.

So had to wait for her. Meanwhile, I decided to power it up with the correct powerbank (really specific stuff), and test it out. This proved to take some time due to many factors, firstly, my "Office" /Mancave is in the other side of the house, making wifi signals weak. These signals are the ones used by the suit to read movement information.

So I had to hang the suit out in the hallway, and poke it with a ninja sword to test and confirm correct reactions/movments. The above gifs and included videos, are showing this cutting edge testing technique.

So, when the Mocap Actress arrived, the process of meticulously measuring every part of her began, Rokoko needs that information to work correctly with the suit, software and blender. (Had to unlock and disconnect all sorts of straps the suit had around the hips, chest and thighs, to fit correctly, quite a funny moment.)

Then comes the calibration of the suit and software. All works flawlessly after that.
I have no video of that just yettho.

Part 2:

For those of you that have been following my WIP posts know that Njorijanna has had several upgrades to her skin, the skin shader is the most important part of realism, without that you can sculpt as good as you want, but it will not look too real. So, with the help of CGcookies Guide "Human" on Blender market, I upgraded Njorijannas skin, and it was such a blast doing that.

And that meant rebuilding the node three again.
This will be the third time that has been done, somewhat repetative work, but it gives satisfaction to see everything so neatly lined up and live results on the right side 3d display.  

She now has more lively and real detailing than ever before. The skin really shines in all types of lighting and scenes. Had some major problems before that the skin looked terrible in certain conditions, cause I simply did not have the right numbers for it. But know, its an all around excellent result! Really happy with how it turned out, it has some touchups and slight adjustments like too poweful deep pores, but nothing time consuming to fix.
