Douglas walked down the street, looking at his phone.

"Dammit mom, answer the phone!" he yelled, hoping he would finally get in touch with his mother after days of silence.

He couldn't understand it. She had never done something like this, not in all the years he had known her.

"Shit!" he yelled as, after a few minutes of walking, he stood in front of the convenience store where he worked. "I guess mom is going to have to wait," Douglas said as he walked into the store, ready to get to work. "Huh?"

Douglas looked ahead, his mouth open with shock as he saw someone he never thought he'd see.

"Traci?" Douglas asked as he looked at the smiling woman behind the front counter.

"Douglas, it's great to see you," Traci said, shining a smile that made Douglas's heart skip a beat.

"Um, I haven't seen you in days..." Douglas said, walking towards the counter. "I thought you dropped off the face of the earth," he said with a small laugh.

"Uh, you have no idea," Traci said with a small laugh. "I had family issues that needed to be dealt with, so I had to leave town for a few days."

"Oh, well, I'm sorry to hear that," Douglas said as he walked past the counter and began to walk towards the back. "Happy to see that you didn't lose your job."

"Yeah, me too..." Traci said quietly as she watched Douglas walk away. "Me too."

Sparks of celebration flew over the upper realm of Cloudara. The realm of trees and white stone monuments surrounded by white clouds, held up by a single connection to the ground below, the Eternity Lift, which acted as an elevator to and from the great city.

Crowds screamed with happiness and excitement as they stood before three humongous titans whose massive feet reached the ground far below and who could easily hold the whole city within the center of their hand.

The titans looked down and smiled. Right before them, standing on a white podium in front of their chests, was the leader of this great planet, Aeronimbus. He was Lead Pontif, Xelar Quarion, and next to this great leader stood one of the ten heads of the Confederation, Liora Kensington.

Xelar stepped forward towards his people who looked up, some with happiness and others with disappointment, each ready to voice their opinions on the news about to be given this day.

Xelar raised his hand and waved as he looked out at the crowds of people surrounding him. "Today, today is a day of change," he said as a smile appeared on his face. "A day of healing," he continued. "As of today, the war that lasted two years is over!" he yelled out, and as he did, the crowd shouted in celebration.

The cheers echoed through the sky, filling the white-stone city with a palpable sense of relief and joy. Xelar waited for the crowd to settle before continuing.

"Our beloved Aeronimbus will now join the Confederation. This union marks the beginning of a new era for our planet. No longer will we stand alone, isolated and vulnerable. Instead, we will be part of a greater alliance, protected and strengthened by our new friends and allies."

The crowd's reaction was mixed. While many cheered, others murmured in discontent. Xelar anticipated this.

"I know some of you have concerns about joining the Confederation," Xelar said, his voice calm but firm. "You worry about losing our independence, our unique culture, and our way of life. Let me assure you, these fears are unfounded. The Confederation values and respects the individuality of each member planet. We will not lose what makes Aeronimbus special. Instead, we will gain the strength and support to preserve it."

He paused, allowing his words to sink in. The faces in the crowd showed a mix of emotions—hope, skepticism, and curiosity.

"The benefits of joining the Confederation are numerous. We will have access to advanced technologies, greater resources, and unparalleled protection. Our cities will flourish, our people will prosper, and our children will grow up in a world where peace and cooperation are the norm, not the exception."

Xelar gestured towards the three titans, their immense forms towering over the city. Their upper bodies and faces were shrouded in clouds, creating a mystical and awe-inspiring sight. The crowd gazed up at them in wonder and trepidation.

"These titans, our new guardians, are a testament to the Confederation's power and commitment to our safety. They stand as symbols of strength and unity, ready to defend us against any threat. Their presence here today is a promise—a promise that we will never again face danger alone."

The titans stood motionless, their eyes surveying the city below. To the people of Aeronimbus, they appeared as living mountains, their colossal forms blending with the clouds. Each titan had a distinct appearance: one with long, flowing blond hair with golden eyes that where cold a shade looked down at the people, another with brown like skin with brown hair with gold streaks running through the strains that shimmered in the sunlight, and the third with playful eyes that glowed softly with pink pig tails for hair.

Xelar turned his attention back to the crowd. "I urge you to embrace this change, to see the Confederation not as a threat, but as an opportunity. Together, we will build a future where our children can dream without fear, where our culture can thrive in a global community, and where our planet can reach its full potential."

He spread his arms wide, his voice filled with conviction. "Today marks the dawn of a new age for Aeronimbus. Let us welcome it with open hearts and minds, for the sake of our future and the future of generations to come."

The crowd erupted into applause, the mix of emotions giving way to a collective sense of hope and possibility. Xelar looked out at his people, his heart swelling with pride and determination. This was the beginning of a new chapter, one that promised to bring peace and prosperity to their beloved planet.

"Do you believe these insects?" Agent 10 said as she looked down at the tiny people running around the small platform. She brushed a few pink strands of hair from her face, her smile growing wider. "I could just swipe them away and this would be over."

"I know." Agent 7 said, wiping some sweat from her brown skin. "These little things are actually celebrating after handing their planet over to us. It's laughable."

"Speaking of laughable, did you hear about Agent 100?" Agent 10 asked with a smirk.

"The newbie? No, what's up with that?" Agent 7 asked.

"Well, apparently she was given an important mission by the 10 heads themselves," Agent 10 explained. "Super hush hush."

"You mean a mission that has more to do than destroying cities in provocative ways?" Agent 7 asked again.

"Oh yes, which I think is a little unfair, don't you?" Agent 10 asked.

"Oh yeah, I think we should help her out, don't you think?" Agent 7 said. "What do you think, Agent 1?"
