For my project I am using very cheap jacks bought from aliexpress. The price is less than 10 cents per unit.

They work fine, but the quality of the threaded part of the nut is poor. The threads are small and cannot be tightened hard enough.

The picture above compares it to a jack I bought from tayda electronics. The quality did not change. The plastic parts have the same injection molding gate position, so they are probably made in the same factory.

The photo below is a comparison with a high quality jack (photo left side) that costs $0.5 per piece.

The quality of the threads is clearly different.

Hello! I ordered my at jblec.com. They look pretty good, but i saw the same issue with the nuts. What i am looking for is a footprint for kicad. Do you have one? Alex from Germany

Another Thing: I want to thank you very much. I watch your videos since around a year, more or less often. But you are the reason i started building electric things for music making. Today i finished my first own schematic for an Attenuater/Inverter/Mixer. I am very proud cause i learned soooo much in one year. I have a lot of plans in my head - for example a Attiny85 Time Multiplier/Divisor (prototyp is almost finish). You gave me the courage - also cause of your fabulous documentations. Really! So i have to sa Thank you :)

If it is a footprint, I believe it is registered in the standard KiCAD library. Thank you! Footprint name: Connector_Audio:Jack_3.5mm_QingPu_WQP-PJ398SM_Vertical_CircularHoles
