Lately I've been building modular synths, but I used to be in a band with a keyboard synthesizer.

Here is a brief list of synthesizers I used in the past.

YAMAHA

MOX8:
It is an 88-key PCM synth. The sound source is the same as Yamaha's flagship MOTIF, so it sounds very good. I was learning piano so I needed an 88-key keyboard with heavy keys.

reface DX:
4op FM Synthesizer. Very good touch of the keyboard. Intuitive FM parameters can be changed, making it ideal for learning FM synthesis.

KORG

X50:
Lightweight PCM synth. Used for band activities. The interface is poor, but it is easy to create sounds with a wide variety of tones and effects.

R3:
Digital synthesizer with analog modeling. It was used for band activities.

ESX-1 & EMX-1:
Groovebox, samplers and synthesizers. I used them in college for band activities. It was my first synthesizer without a keyboard.

MS-20 mini:
Analog Mono Synth. My first modular synthesizer. I still use the patch cables (black connectors and yellow wires).
