There were 39 booths, and despite its small scale, it was sponsored by companies such as Yamaha, Roland, and Sony.
Since the city is a hub for musical instrument manufacturers, many of the booths featured instruments developed personally by employees of Yamaha and Roland.
There was also a small selection of modular synthesizer merchandise, including simple DIY kits and speaker modules.
Tadao Kikumoto, the circuit designer of the TR-808, attended the event privately and seemed to enjoy conversing with the makers.
The following instruments were particularly interesting:
Arduino Uno R4-based Physical Model Violin Synth
It filters the vibrations of the strings (white noise) to produce audio output.
Schmitt Trigger IC-based Noise Machine
The sound can be greatly altered by patching capacitors and resistors.
