So the reason they look at the camera at the end and are breathing heavy isn’t to show the heavy breathing it’s called an ending fairy it’s to show individual members after a performance a lot of time you’ll see them sweating and breathing heavy because they just did intense dancing, singing, and rapping and it takes a lot of energy and stamina so they get super tired and are trying to catch their breath but still have to look good for the camera because there’s still an ending fairy it’s also why they hold the ending pose for so long because they’re waiting for the camerawork to be done. There’s even clips where after the ending fairies you’ll see members of groups collapse or almost collapse we saw that in a clip of this years MAMAs where I.N collapsed after their performance and Chan had to catch him and then him and Felix helped him up and helped him walk backstage. It’s the pure exhaustion from their performances that are the cause of the heavy breathing. That’s why at the end of BTOB’s their ending fairies they weren’t breathing heavy because while their performance was awesome they weren’t doing insane dancing like Ateez was or most of the other groups for that matter.

Yup. You can pit ANY song up against Miroh and I will always choose Miroh. Idk what it is about Miroh. It's just THAT Queen.

Anonymous

YES!!! Let’s gooooo!!!

Racha Dahou

you literally my day 🥹 so happy 😭

Anonymous

YES!! :)

Anonymous

Haha, I've already watched this whole show twice, but adding Teddy's reaction is making me nervous all over again. ahhh

Racha Dahou

Somehow i missed the notification for the first two parts but not this one so I ran ! 😂

Anonymous

The best part was watching Teddy scream at the elongated announcements 🤣

Anna

Stray kids posted a behind the scene to every episode of kingdom on their YouTube channel! I recommend watching each behind after each episode :)

Anonymous

Yes!! The behind the scenes are amazing especially paired with the performance video.

THANKS TEDDY ILY

Anonymous

I feel you. The delays, fillers and cliffhangers almost ruins the fun of enjoying the performances… but still wanna know the answers.

Anonymous

I couldn't even imagine having to wait to watch these. I binged them all back to back the first time. It's so nerve wrecking. I commend you sir!

Anonymous

Well that was the best way to spend an hour to end the day. Thanks for the entertainment, been a while since the last time I felt this excited to see someone else excited! Good luck with Korean TV-editing. They can be frustrating *cries in pain while laughing*

Anonymous

i completly agree with you when I watched this first time i was like "how could any of these three been on 6th place ?????" they were the 3 best fr on this episode. Once again have to thank u for ur honesty. You're a stay and still judged and gave ur honest opinion saying u prefered The Boyz performance ^^ Personally i prefered Stray kids due to the difficulty of their choreo here (also cause Miroh is one of my fav songs of them)

Anonymous

You'll see every group shine in at least one episode the level was no joke

Anonymous

Yes!!!!!!!

It’s 01:15 AM, i have a work meeting in 5 hours, but Teddy’s in the buildiiiinggg 🤙

Kas

the dementor transformation at the end of this has me ON THE FLOOR. watching this live actually took about 20 years off my life i'm convinced it was insanely stressful.

Matthew Trocinski

Thanks for the reaction. I loved watching this when it aired but it was so annoying with the cliff hangers and the different cuts that they had before saying which group was in that position. It was fun watching it with your reaction though can’t wait till the next one.

Anonymous

I've just gotten out of bed and rescheduled my meetings to watch this. Hahahaha! I enjoyed this so much. Not gonna lie, Kingdom may be my favorite of all time. I can no longer count how many times I binge the series whenever I feel unmotivated. Nice to see your perspective in this and I cannot wait for you to see the other performances!!! Just unfortunate you had to see the other performances already 🤪

Kay Popped

It's fun to see this with another perspective (for my 5th? 6th?) time watching the series. If I may, a couple of things to note for context: - despite it being a competition, these men are all elite members of a relatively small club. Many have worked together on shows, seen each other backstage, interviewed each other, been on variety or competition content shows together. The level of respect they have for each other is huge, because they've all done something that so few people ever get to/can do in becoming idols at all. - the sunbaes (any group who debuted before your group, or any person older than you in the same discipline; the opposite is hoobae) are the idols that paved the way. TVXQ (hosts, 2003 debut) are 2nd generation, BTOB, SF9 and IKON are 3rd generation, the "z" groups (The Boyz, SKZ, ATEEZ) are 4th gen. You probably noticed everyone singing along to all the older group's music, and it's because they were in middle/high school with that as their background. You can imagine how amazing it would be to see, meet, talk to, and get to perform with your idols. The respect that is societally shown to those who have accomplished before you is huge. - I know you're a huge SKZ fan, and I'm one of those people here for your excitement watching their performances. Please remember that many of us are multistans, especially for this show, so we'll probably get a wee bit sensitive about our other faves, too. This is especially true when you realize that, for instance, Wooyoung of ATEEZ is extremely close friends with Changbin, and was reminded that in this setting, Changbin is his sunbae because SKZ debuted in April and ATEEZ in October of the same year. It means Wooyoung has to show a certain level of deference to Changbin as his debut senior, where he wouldn't have to defer to him otherwise because they're the same age (3 months apart). Not a spoiler to say that you'll see lots more of the relationships between the different groups and members and how close they are in upcoming episodes. - MNET -- the original broadcaster of the show -- is notorious for creating/showing/enhancing/(faking?) drama, so you'll get LOTS of video repetition when scores are revealed. I'm sure in the original broadcast they also cut away to short commercials near the end to build suspense as well. You'll burst a vein if you linger too much on the fake suspense, and I'd hate that for you. :) So glad you're watching and enjoying this series! And just out of curiosity, do you actually know who won, or no?

Star Dust

This was the torture we went through watching it live! And in my timezone it was at like 3am or something. It was insane. I was a basket case for 3 months.

Anonymous

I feel mean to say it is nice to see someone go through what I went through while watching the first time. Including the yelling at the tv. It is an over all good show and I’m excited to watch it again with you, but they do like to keep you in suspense. 😒

Bombdiggityyo

I’m pretty sure it came on every two weeks which would’ve just been torture. Teddy, you’re so genuine with your opinions and that’s why I am here. It was so great to see you get introduced to the groups as the show went on! Thanks, Teddy 😊

Sorry slight ramble ahead, appreciate it if you actually read! Although I watch Stray Kids and Ateez Kingdom performances all the time I've never actually watched the entire show so I'm so excited to watch along with you!! A couple of thoughts from after watching, first, unsure if you're aware that Hyunjin wasn't in Kingdom, he's only in this performance but you may have noticed he had basically no screen time. He was edited out because he went on hiatus for false bullying accusations. Also, some notes about Ateez (since you are hopefully still keen to check them out? Please give Hongjoong another chance, the subs did him dirty... I reckon you will love him!). Ateez member Mingi was also not in Kingdom (he was on hiatus for mental health reasons) he is the other rapper (along with Hongjoong), so it's important to note his presence missing, as Ateez only have two rappers, therefore Hongjoong does all the rap parts himself. Also, it's good to know that Ateez have a very deep storyline... You don't have to look into it, but it's useful to know that all their MV's and performances (including Kingdom) all connect to a wider story! And sometimes their concepts are confusing if you aren't aware of this! Also another random fact is that although Ateez are the youngest team, that just means in 'experience'. Most members are actually older than SKZ or the same age. Wooyoung (Ateez) and Changbin are besties which you see glimpses of in this episode, but since Changbin is Wooyoung's sunbae, he talks to him differently despite being the same age! Super excited for the next one!!

Bella H

Not me already needing the next one.

Bella H

For reals though, when’s the next one coming?

i am watching kingdom for the third time now and actually know and like all of the groups! its so interesting to see how differently they prepared and the performances they put on. i think its important to keep in mind that not all groups had enough time and resources prepared because they had a comeback at the same time, injuries or other events so it can seem like some didnt prepare enough. thank you for uploading so much i am having a lot of fun :) (ps. i hope you forgive hongjoong the subs did him dirty, he loves skz)

Anonymous

Good old MSnake doing their MSnake thing lol. Their cliff hangers and dragging of results are the most irritating I've ever seen. Expect more, sadly lol

Crystal Taylor

The way I laughed at the end lol. And yes, watching it live was torture!!

Anonymous

I tried watching kingdom by myself, but I decided to watch it with you instead :D

Terrena PS

Your frustration at the end is literally how I’d if handled that 🤣🤣🤣🤣, the heart retching feelings these shows produce, it’s no wonder Korean fans are a bit cray cray! I couldn’t of handled waiting 😩🤣

koibitto

This is probably my 5th time watching Kingdom lol. I laughed out loud when you said you wish you were here when it was live....no you don't you really really don't LOL. It was a damn bloodbath online! Especially with your reaction to the ending of the first episode, you would've been RAGING during the live. I love and hate this show. You get used to the repetitive scenes, it's just so you can see everyone's reaction because there's so many people in the screen. Very excited to watch the next ep again!

Sevynlira

So freaking great. I am loving this. Yeah I ALSO scream at the end. lol

Anonymous

can we all please, PLEASE, scrape some cash together to buy this good man a comfortable chair!! lol Thanks for finally getting to all the Kingdom shows, love all your content! Keep it up!

Cory Tripp

Aaaand that's the last we see of Hyunjin

Anonymous

I would suggest watching 2 episodes a week just because they are spilt up into 3 groups performing an episode

Oddinary Girl

Thank you for you reaction, I finally could take the time to watch it! To be honest, I didn't watch the full episodes of Kingdom before, but all the performances from everyone, and basically everything that's on Youtube Mnet channel, so I'm happy to watch it with you :) Just a reminder : this is not a fair competition since the votes count the most. Basically, it's just who has the biggest fandom. But still, I really think every group did such a great job during all this journey. I watched it for Stray Kids, and they did an excellent job, but still I'm able to appreciate every other peformer here. I knew BTOB from highschool (it's been like 8 or 9 years now o.O), so I was suprised and glad to see them again. They are the nicest and the funniest, truly. Ateez and Stray Kids have similar energy for me, and they're really close as well :) Ikon have the attitude, you know, chill and relax ;) Not the biggest fan of The Boyz and SF9 but they worked really hard and were impressive. I wrote way too much, sorry. Still, thank you again for this reaction and I can't wait to watch the second episode with you :)

j o o

the cliffhangers were the absolute worst 😭😭 having to wait a week to find out was painful

Can someone please explain the hype about iKON? Considering that they weren't even singing, that dance wasn't anything special and the song wasn't exactly mind-blowing. And why were they wearing mics when they weren't singing?

Lauren_001

I mean they're one of the most, for lack of a better term, iconic groups still active in KPOP and one that they all look up. If you're judging them solely based on Kingdom I wouldn't. Rumor had it that MNet pressured their company, along with BTOB and SF9's, to get them to join because they were having trouble filling the remaining three spots with big groups. While it seemed like they had a good time interacting, I don't think they ever cared if they won.

lisamiroh

Ikon is a group that has gone through a lot. When B.I was forced to leave the group, all of a sudden, they found themselves without a leader and main producer. They did not want to participate in Kingdom because they had been in a lot of survival shows already but YG made them participate. I think they just tried to enjoy it as much as they could considering they did not want to be there, basically... I'm glad they did though, because I got to know them through Kingdom. After a couple of episodes, I was already in love with Bobby, I started to listen to his solo projects (which are insanely good), and then, I found out about B.I's story and now I am a proud B.I fan. They are genuine, talented and very charismatic, but they were not at their best in Kingdom, that's all.

Anonymous

Thanks. I was judging their Kingdom performances, because frankly after seeing that I had no interest in hearing anything else from them. But if they were forced into competing it's hardly surprising they didn't show their best sides.

Anonymous

What about Bobby refusing to show even common courtesy by applauding at the end of performances, rudely laughing at everyone including his own group, and deliberately making other people very uncomfortable during the 2min chats made you fall in love with him?

Anonymous

because you are new to kingdom and some of these groups, it didn't really tell you but BtoB is currently 6 members in the group but missing members due to military service and one of the Lee Chang-Sub is not able to participate fully due to back injury. The balled guy name is Peniel and he is from Chicago IL. He speaks fluent English and is one of the host on Eric Nam's podcast Dive Studios. After the intro Hyunjin went on hiatus and Ateez is also missing a member Minji who was on medical hiatus at the time Kingdom was filmed. Minji like Hyunjin has a big presence in the group. I don't remember if they mentioned any of this later so I just letting you know now. adding that I can see where you would put the boys first because you have never seen them before. The performance was amazing but it was so similar to the first season and they didn't add much to it. But besides all that it was still amazing performance,. I would sill put them 2nd and stray kids 1st because of the expertise. Stray Kids had a more of a unique performance with more complicated choro. Yes it was in sync but it was a controlled chaos.. but that is just me. all of them did so well. its sad to see someone has to be at bottom. For Ateez this was not their best performance. they can do so much more. You will see later on how well they can do.
