The way I see it, Emperor Akashi is better at one-on-one play, Original Akashi is better at team play, and their variants of the zone reflect that. Hence why in Teiko when everyone else started solo play, it was Emperor Akashi who had to step up to beat Murasakibara. Glad you’re liking these episodes!
