May 2023 Update (Patreon)

Quick April Recap

So April wasn't the productive month I had hoped it would be. There were multiple factors, most of them more about me trying to find a work/life balance as I shift out of my other work and lean into writing Erotica full time more and more. I also had a tough time writing several of the releases last month - the 'flow' never set in for any of them and even though I'm generally happy with the results, they didn't come easy.

- Cattie's character art has been in development, and Bayushi and I went back and forth a bit to make sure we get the right look. He really nailed the style and I'll release it here as soon as we've got the final high-res version.

- While writing was a bit of a slog creatively, I did finally figure out the flow I need to do some of the utility cleaning to compile back chapters of the series into larger collections with fresh edits. AMA 1-50 and 51-100 released and I should be able to get more of these done now.

- Despite a slow month of releases, we saw big growth but also a big drop at the end of the month as (understandably) people didn't get as much content as they expected; the stats behind the Patreon trajectory are really interesting to follow on my end, but for the purposes of our Goals we had 433 patrons carry over from April, bringing us closer to the 500 patron goal of Butt Commissions for the AMA girls. (I'm tracking the Goals at the bottom of the Big List pinned post!)

Plans for May

- As with every month, I'm going in hoping to hit our schedule of 1 AMA and 1 OFG release per week, plus a chapter of FoF or QT:NW. I still see this as an attainable goal, I just need to tweak my time management routine to make it happen.

- Polls: TWO polls are going to go live in the next couple of days. The first one is for the next AMA Character Art - Cattie was an overwhelming victor for April, but Wanda and Becca were neck in neck for a lot of the run. Definitely interested to see who you folks want to see next from Bayushi! The second poll is going to be for FoF, so make sure you're caught up on the Beta chapters because not only will it affect the future of the story, but I might even go back and change a scene or two in the Alpha chapters that are out that I'm a little iffy on.

- Utility Cleaning: With two AMA bundles done, I'm hoping to get the rest of AMA done this month and start work on OFG. I also plan to release 'Character Chapters' compiling a reference list of all the characters in each story as I get the bundles up to date.

- Non-Patreon Goal: It fell off the end of my to-do list last month; I still need to figure out StoriesOnline to start posting there. Also, once I have the AMA bundles done, I'd like to start advertising it over on some appropriate subreddits.

- Social Media: Folks have mentioned Discord to me in the past and I've said 'I'm working on it.' Well, that's still technically true, but I've the progress has been very slow with my other stuff going on. I'll likely do a Poll at some point this month to see how many people here would WANT a Discord server for this community - I just need to know if it's a small vocal minority of folks, or if there's a strong group of interested people. I'm also looking at Twitter to see if it's worthwhile starting to post over there - having Character Art and commissions to show off makes it easier to 'grow attention' there and connect with authors, artists and potential new readers.

A few other authors have started letting the word slip out, so I guess an official announcement here is a great place to start:

I am organizing a Harem Anthology called All For One, One For All. We've got some amazing writers from the Literotica, MCStories and CHYOA community signed up to write novellas across a variety of genres, all featuring different sizes and types of Harem relationships. And you'll definitely recognize at least a few of the names!

- Me, BreaktheBar: Yes, I'm editing the anthology but I'll also write a story for it.

I am SO excited for the lineup of Authors that we've put together.

The Anthology will be released in the last quarter of 2023 (aiming for October) and will be published through a crowdfunding campaign. It will be a Digital Only project, and if things go well we will look at doing a second anthology and whether a physical release makes sense.

That's all the info I can hand out for now - there WILL be more in the coming months, along with previews of the stories as we get closer to the campaign date.
