 Salutations! Here’s what's going on.

For the last couple of weeks we’ve been saving and resaving layers in order for our new systems to work. In this post I’ll try to convey why it is so time-consuming and complicated in general, plus, I’m teasing two outfits (because this post is mostly about outfits). 

As for the release date, it will 100% be out this month, since it is long overdue. We’ll do our best to release it as soon as possible, but there’s still a lot of work. 

 Here’s a preview of two outfits - “waitress” uniform and “bullet” outfit

I was a bit bored with just redrawing stuff, so I took some creative liberties in the bullet outfit. I know that generally people don’t react well to changes, and since we still have some time before the release, I’m showing two versions just in case, both me and Moana prefer the “upgraded” one, but I want to hear your opinion. Unfortunately only one version can be included in the game, since outfits are quite complex now.

As of right now, there’s 3190 pictures of Kira’s character art. A lot of it is just a “placeholder” written across the screen, you won’t see it in the game, but it will be in the game files. This will allow us to develop the game without breaking your save files.  

We’ve thought about and tested every possibility to create this system. I’ve drawn some stuff in advance and for the sake of the testing. Every aspect of Kira’s character art is deliberately drawn a certain way, from a certain angle and placed on a certain layer, just so you can do whatever you want in the game. Hairstyles, lips, tattoos, outfits, piercings, body writings, fluids (cum, milk), sextoys, underwear, lip color, expressions, hand placement, breast sizes, hip sizes, pregnancy - everything we could think of is now in the game. And once you’ll start it - the game will assign to you necessary variables and will call necessary pictures when needed. 

A lot of thought was put into this system and we’ve faced many complications while developing and testing it, but it was absolutely necessary, and here’s why:  

I’ve asked Moana to “do the math” - before rework Kira had 119 pictures, and if we were to continue developing the game without this rework, in order for us to implement everything we want (tattoos, hairstyles, breast sizes, etc.) we’d need 1 204 608 pictures -  This number is so big because Kira basically had just two layers (body and head), and now she has over 50 layers, which saves us time and space (weight of the game). With our new system this number is still quite big - 3190, but it's nowhere near a million and it’s expected, since this is an “end game” number. 

Our current number will still grow, I think the game will have 3200-3300 pictures of Kira’s character art this week, and every new outfit in the future will add around 130 new pictures to the game - that’s why it’s now harder for us to do outfits. 

That said, we’re almost done with polishing our new character art system, which is the hardest aspect of the game, thankfully we only need to do this once. If everything will work as intended - you won't even notice its presence (apart from a significant change in the game size).

 On the picture above you can see another byproduct of our rework. Because everything is layered and optimized now - underwear is now a separate entity. 

The game will have different sets of underwear, and you will be able to choose what type you want Kira to wear. In time I will draw and we will add more types, lingerie, garter belts etc. So hypnosis has a significant downside now, in the form of Kira refusing to wear underwear all together.   

Every outfit will now have two versions - normal and revealing. This allows us to better code and write npc reactions. Instead of manually setting each outfit type - they all will just have two. 

 The character art system is almost ready and it’s the last system that requires more testing. Because if we’ll change layer order in a bugfix - you’ll need to restart the game, and we want to avoid that. Events work similarly to Kira’s character art, but they are much more easier to do, especially now with our new system. The text is also not a problem, it completely relies on your in-game stats now, and compared to our other systems - it wasn’t hard for us to implement. 

Each individual part of the rework is quite simple and logical, but the sheer amount of things is what’s causing us trouble. Everything is tied together and we can’t release the game without everything in place. 

We’re doing our best to finish this as quickly as we can, and the game will finally be out this month, that’s for sure.

I don't mind the shoulder pads on the "upgraded" version of the bullet outfit, but the spikes are too much. Figured as the person who paid to have it in the game I should let my opinion on the matter be known. And since you already have a version of the outfit drawn without them, maybe lose them entirely in the "revealing" version.

every update like this on the progress just gets me more and more excited for the next version. Good luck on testing that stuff out can't wait to see what you've come up with

Gotta say while the spikes are an interesting addition to the outfit I kinda prefer the regular. Looks more like a real jacket instead of ww1 imperial german LARP gear.
