I thought you might appreciate something nice for hump day!

Over the past week or so, I've been investigating more advanced rendering and postwork techniques, and the picture you see above is a result of that. It may not look super different from my usual stuff, but the process used to create it was quite unlike the one I normally use. This newer process allows me much more control over the final product, but this control comes at a cost of increased complexity to set up and work with the image. Sometimes I'd only spend a few minutes getting an image ready after it was done rendering, but the process for this image was considerably longer. ಥ_ಥ (It was fun, though!)

A lot of people seem to really like the game's art, and I'm quite happy about that. I genuinely want to get better, though, and I view what I've been doing over the past week as the beginning of a journey to actually become a bit competent as an artist.

Anyway, I hope you guys like it. 

I'll probably have 0.5.2 out in the next couple of days - I was considering not releasing a 'final' version of 0.5 and just fixing the bugs in 0.6, but it's probably better to have a 'definitive' version of 0.5 - if only to avoid fielding the same bug reports when it goes public.
