I was once asked the question, "Do you think it’s more difficult to be involved in naturism being a female?" & my instant reaction was "NAH, NOT REALLY" But then I paused for a moment to not just think about myself, but all women & realised hell fucking yes it is!

Because, come on, isn't the entire point of a woman's nakedness for male tantilization?

Many people seem confounded by expressions of female nudity that are not sexual as we view a woman taking her clothes off as being sexually suggestive.

Seeing a woman naked can spark many instant thoughts & emotions - attention seeker, available, sex object, public consumption - when simply, in this case, is an expression of their freedom.

^I wrote, posted and discussed this some time ago and I received a very mixed response. One response that I recieved that struck me was that we lack female leadership in the naturist community.

Women are involved in naturism, yes, but "play victim" pointing the finger, saying men are the reason women stay behind closed doors and do not attend nudist events.

But are men really the issue?

According to a study done by the University of Michigan with both male and female students, congnitive tasks were performed with the students wearing either a bathing suit or fully clothed. The female participants who wore minimal clothing were said to have performed worse than those who were fully dressed. Meanwhile, the difference didn't affect the men at all!

The researchers determined that objectification affects women's psyche in different ways. The collective cultural thinking appears to assume that the discomfort many women feel by stripping down can only be a symptom of weak self-esteem brought on by a hypercritical society. (Resource: Verily)

But the reasons may go far beyond this as it is no secret that people are willing to go to extreme lengths to exploit the female body.

So when we question why there aren't as many women involved in naturism as men, unfortunately, women have more to lose when it comes to baring themselves. And just as a woman may have inhibitions about walking through a particular part of town alone at night, those instincts are the same that may arise when stripping down amongst a group full of strangers.

This is not a post saying men are bad or that women shouldn't be involved in naturism but simply a food for thought highlighting a subject that I feel needs to be spoken about 😊
