You could start a very spicy argument bringing up this topic and although the two terms both share a common interest in nudity, in my option, these labels are very different.

Asking if nudism or naturism came first is like asking whether it was the chicken or the egg. Who the fuck knows? But the definition of these two terms has evolved over time to allow us to choose the lifestyle and/or community we would like to be a part of. And for some people, sticking to a certain term gives them a sense of belonging

So let's get into it. What the hell is the difference?!

It is said that nudism is defined as being more so about the actual nudity. The enjoyment of being naked within your own company at home or a clothes-free beach or venue on a regular basis. But let's face it, we're social creatures!

Whereas naturism has more of a philosophy behind it, highlighting an attitude favoring harmony with nature and respect for the environment. Naturists tend to gravitate towards sharing this practice among others within a community. It becomes less about the sake of being naked and instead what it represents. That said, naturists come from a range of philosophical and cultural backgrounds; there is no single naturist ideology.

Degrees of nudity will vary. Some people prefer to be naked all the time whereas others prefer to save their birthday suits for social events every so often.

You may still be sitting there scratching your head asking... I still don't understand the difference. The true definition of these terms is interchangeable and will always be up for debate. But one thing is for sure, both respect & enjoy the clothes-free lifestyle.

Which one are you?

I'm more of a outside social nudity guy let if its hot take it off to cool off and if I do a sauna why wear something you will have to wash --I'm wearing while home mostly because I have to much junk to rube up against by accident ..and yes I can just be more carful with myself but I never said I was not clumsy so I know I would hit something because I do it now wearing stuff--just don't wear as much and when people come over they know what to expect

I don't like to put a label when it comes to identification cause it's unnecessary as well as it's pointless. Personally, I am an individual that enjoys the elements of being nude in the comfort of my own space environment; which coincidentally, happens to be within my own house, the beach, the trails and amongst the trees. Most of our friends (and neighbours) are aware of our lifestyle and they accept that. It's all about comfort as well as respecting boundaries.

Did you feel as though you ever had to explain yourself though? And if so, did you put a label on it to make it easier for others to understand?
