hey QT, the dryness you're experiencing could be the tannins in the wine. Another way to phrase it is "this red wine has a tannic aftertaste". Either way is correct as far as I've heard, and it makes you sound cool and smart

not to be parasocial but i relate so much to qt. I had a very traumatic injury a few years ago and ever since then i just don’t feel anything and it sucks a lot. (Just found a therapist that accepts my insurance so hopefully that works out lol)

Dark chocolate is actually my fav Solvang is a great little town, I live on the central coast :) Regarding asking strangers to use their oven? I think we need more context. Is this the first time meeting them? Or do you know them/are friends with them? If you know them then it’s fine but if you don’t and this is the first time I think it’s a little strange to ask to use their oven. As someone who deals with dissociation, I love hearing about QTs current ongoing experiences with it. It is refreshening to hear from someone who is currently dealing with it instead of from the normal “cured” perspective. I often feel guilty about how long I’ve felt distant from the world. It is a relief to not feel so alone in the feeling.

I just had a lasik consultation. they say with every lasik surgery the risk increases, so they only recommend you do it max 2 times in your life. So thats why they advise you do your first one after your vision stabilizes (usually late 20s). Or else you'll just be back in glasses in a few years

QT, this is super random I actually think you might like boxing (for purely fitness). I started doing it after my EMDR therapist recommended it to me because the repetitive left right motion actually helps you reprocess traumatic memories. It also helps that it tends to release some anger so it can help process those particular issues the anger is tied to…. And honestly for me getting to punch a human man dummy (getting a B.O.B. Was the best decision I’ve ever made) helped me with a lot of my abandonment trauma and relationship trauma. Anyway you both are kick-ass humans and I want the best for y’all 🙏🏻❤️

id be interested to hear how you both picked yourself up after breakups bc im genuinely *terrified* of relationships and forming new connections because i know i will be very mentally unwell when they end lol. i had a psychotic break after my 6 year relationship ended and it took about a year of constant agony + delusions until my brain calmed down with medication. its reassuring to hear mayas similar experience as i think people often overlook how triggering & traumatic breakups can be

I took a month off last December (unplanned) because it got to a point where I just couldn't do it anymore or I knew I would end up in the hospital. I am doing better now and finally, after years of work, starting to return to my body and feel things again in a safe way. Speaking from my own experience- the tools my therapist gave me to be more mindful made me feel pretty stupid at first, but I just had to fake it (for a long time) until I started to realize that I wasn't faking it as much anymore. &lt;3

god i understand where qt is coming from so much with the mentality that i have to work to be useful and if i’m not working what the fuck am i doing. i’ve struggled with the same loop of work myself into burnout, take a break, get mad at myself for not doing enough while i’m on a break, work myself into a worse burnout. it’s comforting to know that i’m not alone.
