LETS GO MINI MAYA EPISODE ABOUT.... PERRY THE PLATYPUS

Jordy

Platypus penis…….

Zr0w3n

Good choice, sad to see the news today of the Australian man that took a platypus on a train and took it to a city centre to show off

Hydrostedt

Perry the Platypus!!!!

Akoya

Learning about how platypuses ooze milk out of their glands was not what I expected on a Thursday afternoon. Thanks?

Anonymous

Fun little quick nerd out episode!

XJR

🦆🦫

Sivvii_

pogg mini episodes

JenWithLuv

thank you Maya for going through how weird and unique platapuses are😸

Tfries_

🎶he's a semi-aquatic egg-laying mammal of action 🎶

Jordy

I just started a new job and now can’t wait to start a conversation with “did u know platypuses ooze milk from their glands?”

ChubbyHobo

These things are weird. Thanks for the lesson.

Anonymous

What's up with like the crazy frog guys

Arrowni

That was fun, I'd be up to know more about a species of fish that breathes air

Bryan

Excited for all the Patreon stuff (obviously) but this is by far the one I’m most excited for. Time to tell my coworkers about sweaty milk creatures

Anonymous

Horned Lizards are my vote for next mini animal episode, They were my favorite animal as a kid especially with there defense mechanisms

Anonymous

I'd love to see one of these on wolverine frogs (trichobatrachus robustus). They're freaks for a few good reasons and I think they're neat little abominations for it.

Anonymous

Platapuses feel like an April Fools joke

SetRange

These are really fun! Would love to see water bears, mantis shrimp, glass frogs, angler fish or sea pigs

your_reese

They look like Nature just put everything togheter that they could find, to figure out how to build a good one.

Payton

i would love to hear about a crazy fish, like the ones you only see at the bottom of the ocean or some ish, there has to be some wild ones

Ivvyandvine

Giant pandas! Would be super interested to hear your take on efforts to release pandas that are raised in captivity and reintroducing them to the wild in an effort to boost populations ( there was a documentary short on it a few years ago that I had watched super interesting) also idk I just think panda diplomacy is such a weird petty topic to know about lol

David

I didn’t know I paid extra Patreon money for platypus penis’s as well🫣

Anonymous

Blob Fish and anteaters are my vote !

Anonymous

Platypenis

Helmi

can we talk about the fact that pigeons are domesticated

Ash

literally insane wtf

Ash

I'm not sure on specifics but weird deep sea fish/animals?

Anonymous

You should do a video on the black-footed cat!!!!!

Iverypt

I'd like to learn more about what weird species of bats are out there

Nivaldo Farias

there are a couple of weird fish here in northern brazil but the one I love seeing the most is the four-eyed fish. it looks dumb and has a funny cientific name: anableps anableps. cool guy. also: flatfish.

Travis Dillon

I could listen to these rants for an hour 😂 I like this mini series

Chloie

Capybara!

Lacy Harris

Before mini episode: Oh yay platypus! Super cute! After mini episode: WTF it's so weird! The more you know...

Anonymous

Hairy Frogfish, just saw one for the first time today. Wtf is that? lmao

Rasmus

Very cool! The format is great, I think. If you feel like it, you could consider throwing in 30 seconds on their habitat/range/conservation status in the beginning to help us contextualize the fun facts?

Riley Lynn

Venomous?! …and it only got weirder from there! Love the short, funny, info-packed format. Looking forward to more weird animal facts!

Anonymous

This miniseries is going to be so amazing!! Loved it!

Anonymous

Marvelous content! I would love to hear an episode on the Island Foxes that live on the Channel Islands! P.S: I started hearing double Maya whenever we switched to the web browser.

Anonymous

How about the Blobfish? Lots of misconceptions about it with its super famous unnatural look when pulled out of the ocean.

miriam lopeZ

if these were longer, even better! :)

Anonymous

Hoan Kiem Turtles could make for a good episode. They were thought to just be creatures from Vietnamese mythology until footage of one confirmed them in 1998. Also could make for some good conservation discussion due to their extinct in the wild status.

Snacboi

I love that it feels like a Platypus was given a list of things they needed to be able to do and they just made it as custom as possible like a mod-ed civic. Also Id love to hear about why these things are useful for them in their environment! <3

David Harrah

Are guinea(fowls) just fucked up looking turkeys

Bailey

wow this was so fun!! i would love to hear about axolotls i find them interesting

Darren Hertenstein

I drank 2 bottles of wine watching the main podcast, then came to this... My brain is broken.

Anonymous

This is a great length for this kind of thing! Would be awesome to hear about animal's we're unlikely to have heard of so hard to suggest :)

Anonymous

Axolotls would be a fun one but I know they’re a pretty popular animal

Tosin Awofeso

can you do all the animals from the mountain chicken guy....cuz I have questions and I need answers

Kiera Clements

im interested in hearing about the naked mole rat tbh, it's such a weird little Dude™️

Suspectgrey

Flatid Planthopper Nymph is a DOPE newlyish discorvered insect that looks like popcorn

JenWithLuv

can you do sugar gliders? 🌝👉🏻👈🏻

seashell

yeah there has to be something even weirder than the platypus in the ocean, I would love and hate to learn about that

Anonymous

Oooooh Baikal seals would be a cool spotlight!

SuperDuprEgg

I found a mole cricket once and thought it was a bug eating another bug it was genuinly so shocking it doesn't make sense

Catloyalist

Maya! This is such a fun Idea. How about we learn about the ecosystem of cats and rodents in human history and how when they were slaughtered in mass it lead to the bubonic plague.

Zr0w3n

Very cool episode, I agree that just getting to know a general overview of an animal is a good idea, with some fun facts. Maybe some info on their habitat and how to look after them better would be cool too

BS

That's crazy I never knew platapusues were ducks

bakedLaska

I know koalas are super well known but they should not exist. Their specific diet and GI system is crazy. Learning about them in my animal nutrition class drove me insane. THEY HAVE A NEARLY 7 FOOT CECUM. WHY!!!

Cameron

pangolin next pls, i love those weird looking knights of the round table guys

Joseph Cie

Amazing episode, maybe talk about echidnae, goblin sharks or macropinna microstoma next!

LunaticLynn

great informative ep! the facts about platypuses (platypi?) really just kept getting more wild lol. how on earth does an animal like this exist? also while googling the plural of platypus, apparently a group of platypus is referred to as a 'paddle.' pls. now i can finally collect random facts about animals LETSGO!

Jose Marin

This was actually really interesting! You should research the axolotl :)

Sennithee

I want to know the truth about daddy long legs!! Thanks for doing this Maya I'm so glad you came back, I literally cried when you came back. You are such a Inspiration.

Anonymous

Loved it! Thanks Maya!

Anonymous

I couldn't stop myself from wondering about if people sweat their milk as well. :( I didn't like it. Fantastic short though. I can't wait to talk about this at work on Monday!

Egg Hamilton

AWESOME I LOVE THESE! If you are open to covering prehistoric animals as well that would be SICK in particular the quetzalcoatlus is a weird effing pterosaur that I think would have some interesting fun facts

Dune_Shadow

I just saw a video about the Flatworm and their mating ritual is crazy. Could maybe add origin or where the animals are usually found especially as they get weirder. Thank you for these mini episodes!

ellliecopter

um ok this was epic

Anonymous

Bruh the fact they sweat milk is insane It’s not the weirdest animal but I’d never heard of Fossas before like a year ago, an episode about them would be cool!

Ridorana12

That was cool actually

Axolotl_Pines

I thought milk sweats were common

Anonymous

I’d love to know more about Mormon crickets. I was raised in a small town where they would come in swarms during the summer.

Elijah Jones

loved this can't wait for more

ghostwritersrus

This might be my favorite new Patreon content! You should do one on the trachelismus beetle (giraffe beetle)

Analicia Delamar-Huse

It's not a crazy animal but I've always been fascinated with the SeaHorse an their mating and birthing process!

Anonymous

Pistol shrimp! I learned about them recently and I found them to be really fascinating! Also I find your current method of just listing the stuff that you’ve learned to be really enjoyable

Anonymous

The more facts you told about platypuses the more I agreed with those scientists saying they aren't real lol. A spotlight on koalas would be cool; not unheard of animals but maybe highlighting misconceptions about them would be cool :)

Anonymous

Thank you for the Platypus talk. I would very much like to add sea turtles to the list.

Anonymous

Big fan. The format is fun. If you ever do an African Wild Dogs thing that'd make my day.

Hollie

This is probably my favorite Patreon content. Maya just bashing on weird animals 😂 The more I learned about the platypus the more I'm nodding along like no she's right there's no reason for any of this to be a thing

Akumu2100

Weird animal

Anonymous

this is my dream maya content, so so so happy

Anonymous

loved this content so much and I'm so excited for more

Mya

Do planarians!!!

Jaime Sherpa

I loved this! I knew a lot of the random facts on the platypus but still there were new things to learn, the UV one really surprised me!! Love animal facts as ice breakers (:

Calla D

Jellyfish pls!

Michael Kiwan

Have you been to the San Diego zoo safari park? They have a platypus, it’s a really cool zoo
