I think the way that Blake responded to that interviewer sucks but I also think it sucks to comment on people’s bodies as a way to comment on pregnancy. Not every pregnant person feels good about their body changing even if they want the baby. I’m weird, I guess, because I do think that is an off-putting and presumptuous thing to say even if it’s common.

I'm not ready to witch hunt Blake yet. I think she was trying to make a point about some double standards in Hollywood (about women's bodies and the shit women have to answer that men don't) but she missed the mark. Plus those press junkets are so long and annoying, maybe she was just having an off day. IDK, I like to give the benefit of the doubt in most cases. It's too easy for the masses to knock people off their pedestals. I hate celeb culture in general - everyone just needs to chill. We're all just people and sometimes people are moody fucks

The groupie stalker thing is as old as Elvis or the Beatles. No generation found a good solution for the “super fan “ problem. Lady Diana, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears…. The list goes on. When the parasocial aspect is part of your product statistically you attract some mentally unwell people. That’s the new aspect. The constant availability takes it to a new level. But that’s the social media USP unfortunately.

I've never really commented before but I had an opinion on the Blake Lively situation. It feels like to me, and I've only seen the information presented here, but it feels like Blake is resentful of Ryan Reynold's fame. At least when it comes to the interviews. It sounded like she was saying it all the wrong ways. She didn't want her body and kids talked about, because she wanted focus on her career, so she lashed out at the interviewer with a backhanded comment. She didn't want to talk about clothes 'because she's a woman right?' She wanted to talk about her acting or movie direction, you know, the same stuff they talk to Ryan about in interviews. It sounds like she's screaming to be taken seriously because she's feeling buried under his fame. He always pushes his extra companies, why can't she? Idk I think she's just a bad actor and doesn't know how to present herself lol but I also think she has some points to be made if you compare her interview questions about movies to the questions Ryan gets.

Agreed. I think Blake comes across as incredibly unlikeable overall. But in the clip congratulating her- there’s a big difference on congrats on expecting verse saying “your little bump” it’s really not appropriate to say, and I think that’s what Blake was throwing back at the interviewer and then just seemed annoyed at the interviewer the rest of the time.

i had Thoughts about the It Ends With Us situation but idk how to construe my yapping so instead what if you played Halo campaign co-op, at the very least Halo 3 since that game seems to have its place in QT's lore that she can show to Maya who probably didn't have much exposure to green man game

i dont really know anything about this singer but it seems fans issues arent that she is setting boundaries it seems that the issue is saying any fan interaction outside of designated performance time is akin to stalking/border line assault. also her phrasing it as being a byproduct of her being a woman and no from being a celebrity. i feel this is a common experience regardless of gender. the boundaries are 100% normal and valid but the experience she has is 1 person but the fans perspective is that of an individual. but thats from someone who has never felt the urge to engage with a celebrity

I think people forget that celebrities do those interviews all day for hours on end. She likely had gotten comments about clothes or her pregnancy more often than the movie and was over it. Also her co star seemed to be in on the sarcasm not trying to save her but going along with the “women only get asked about clothes” bit. The no cravings thing I think was just a bad joke that people took as real, seems she makes jokes that don’t land 🤷‍♀️ Curious to see the changes to tier ones, personally not a fan of gaming but unsure what else you could offer

I mostly agree with everything, but regarding the Blake's weird answer to the interviewer regarding being approached by DV/DA victims which Maya said was an out-of-pocket question, I completely disagree. She played a role, yes, but that doesn't mean you just shrug people away after playing a part of someone who experienced it. I mean, how hard is it to empathize with the victims? Especially those of which you played a role of. Take Zendaya for example, she isn't a drug addict but her depiction of Rue and how she connects with Rue makes her understand the ins and outs of being a drug addict, and she has spoken so much about how she empathizes with addicts and so on. I think if you're truly passionate about your craft in terms of acting, it is close to impossible not to feel the feelings of the character you are playing and her answer just honestly goes to show that she isn't passionate with the acting she did, at least for the role.

I think gaming would be amazing and there are a lot of good options, I think co-op games are the best as there a lot of options like: Puzzles - Keep talking and Nobody explodes, Portal 2, It takes 2, etc. Platformers/frustrating games - Chained together, Overcooked, etc.

i really just want the uncensored / ad free main podcast plus the bonus episode, tbh. idc about getting it before the youtube drops. For gaming stuff though to keep in the spirit of the podcast it should probably be something co-op or at least something that gets you talking, games that are "mind empty, go fast" probably don't fit this audience well. If you play an MMO or a party game you could also invite T2's to join the lobby and put clips on maya/qt youtube to advertise the patreon 😝

Honestly what I find most troubling about the It Ends with Us drama is the entire cast and crew seemed to very clearly be on Blake's side, but then Baldoni hired the PR team that Jonny Depp used in his divorce with Amber Heard and suddenly all this stuff about Blake keeps popping up...

I think she could have answered it better, but it absolutely was an inappropriate question. The reporter was suggesting its a good idea for DV victims to approach actors for help and was asking how can these DV victims come to you for help? that's an insane thing to ask. Actors are not DV experts and should not be your point of contact for help and I think that was what Blake was trying to convey but did it in a really poor way.

I think the hardest thing with celebrity interactions is everyone is different. Slime absolutely hates when people come up and say his bits. But Conan O'Brien says he loves when fans do his bits to him because it's an instant connection between them. I will say I have a hard time feeling for people upset about parasocial relationships when they feed into them. Taylor swift leaving hidden messages for dedicated fans. Or streamers who are like I'm going to do an extra long stream because it's my birthday come and celebrate with me. Eh you brought the parasocial weirdos on yourself.

We can’t really speculate that deeply in regards to who likes who when it’s clear, getting on Blake’s good side is probably a good idea when it comes to your career as an actor. She’s connected to really powerful people in the industry. People can be easily swayed by powerful people.

I think about musicians calling their work a project like this: Their job is to be a musician. when they make music, they are at work. when youre at work, you get assigned to different projects. Chappell is currently working on the chappell roan project. its more common with bands to call them things peoples "main project" or "side project" and it is a little weird when it comes to individual artists like chappell, but its the same idea

I am so so excited about book club!! Also, I think that story-based gaming would be fantastic content! Especially cinematic, choice-based games like anything from Telltale, where both of you can participate in making decisions of how the story unfolds. Along those lines, I also highly recommend Life is Strange and Until Dawn. And regarding other long distance content, I personally would love more movie watch-alongs like 500 Days of Summer. That would be really fun

Story-based gaming is a good idea; people have suggested Life is Strange and Until Dawn, which are good picks. A lot of games by Telltale are like choose-your-own-adventure games. There's also weird games by David Cage that are basically movies with QTEs, some people enjoy those (Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, Detroit: Become Human). SOMA is great sci-fi horror but it can be pretty scary, it's like Amnesia with a better story IMO

Regarding Olivia and the "fuck, fuck fuck" stuff. I think it probably has to do with reaching an age (for her and her audience) where it's like "oh we can do this now" And it just gets overused and annoying. It's like when you get to high school and *gasp* the teacher swore in class. I don't think that same logic should apply for sexual expression(?) (for lack of a better term))

It must be different for many in the US then because here it's not offensive in the slightest and is used interchangeably with "congrats on your pregnancy", no one thinks anything of it and it's just a general positive phrase. The interviewer is also European so it's probably the same where she is. It's very interesting how differently phrases can be viewed dependent on country but I guess neither of them thought about that in the moment. The interviewer didn't consider that it could be offensive elsewhere and Blake didn't consider that the interviewer was saying it to be nice with no malicious intent or anything to do with body shaming since it's just a normal thing to say where she's from.

I'm a huge Justin Baldoni stan and can tell you he is being totally sincere. Outside of acting, his life's work is examining, critiquing and raising awareness of social issues. It totally made sense to me why he wanted to be in this project. He has a podcast called Man Enough where he and his co-hosts examine issues of modern day masculinity and how men can be positive role models and have a positive impact in the world. He is very introspective, therapized, self-aware, and safe-effacing. I understand his response that people thought was weird as to why he wanted to play Riley. In line with his work and his podcast, he wants to be honest and transparent so all men can feel comfortable examining parts of themselves they may be ashamed of. He is also Baha'i faith which emphasizes the elimination of social prejudice as one of the core tenants and the equality of human beings and men and women.
