The misinformation is too much today ToT, J.cole was the one who talked about the big 3 a year ago on first person shooter, in it, he said that the big three was Him, aubrey (drake) and kendrick. He didn't shoot shots at anyone and was just trying to unite them and share the crown. Kendrick took this personal since he thinks drake is way below him. Edit: in retrospect, this comment sound very negative, it was purely meant as a information box to help correct some minor (and not that big) mistakes😭❤️

A lot of people complaining that I missed parts and didnt go into enough detail. Im super sorry I was trying to keep it as short as possible and still went 30 minutes over. ALSO I am bummed I mixed stuff up and misspoke at times. I should have made a slide show to go with it to keep me on track. With my current level of disassociation I can hardly remember my own name let alone keep track of lots and lots details and present them in a coherent way. Personally, I watch this pod cos it reminds me of just shooting the shit with my friends. That means sharing passions, waffling, getting sidetracked, and sharing half remembered knowledge and gossip. I dont treat it like gospel or investigative journalism. It's vibes and introducing each other to new things. They've been very open that we should expect the same from them. They are both extremely busy businesswomen with personal struggles and fk all time. Again, they're just shooting the shit. Show them some grace and don't hold them to standards theyve never claimed.

I mean, there's a genuine argument to be made that it might not be the smartest idea to be so judgmental about a culture they're clearly not too familiar with. I'm no representative, but in rap battle culture these lyrics are pretty par for the course. And Maya's pearl clutching could be compared to a highly conservative person's reaction to gay marriage. In which case, I'd imagine many people here would tell that person to quiet down. I personally don't have a problem with what she said, but I can see why someone might. I'll note that there's a difference between digesting/enjoying/judging a massive pop culture moment like this, and judging the artists themselves as if it's an indictment on their mothers.

Loved the episode even with some mistakes (we’re all human) but the shooting mentioned at the end surprisingly isn’t related to this specific beef (believed to be retaliation to The Weeknd’s manager cash xo’s house getting shot at the week before), but I do agree that it sucks that family is being brought up when it was at first just for sport but like his last beef Drake takes it too far and makes it personal then cries victim when it escalates

It was a good recap overall, sure qt misspoke here and there given that she said she was disassociating but I easily understood the general gist of the beef. Also maya is right its cringe bringing in kids and threatening to kill each other but idk me personally I felt like its part of beef culture and dont think anyone believes they’ll actually kill each other. The lyrics, disses, music and hidden messages in half of the songs were pretty insane and very cleaver so I really enjoyed this recap so all in all I liked this episode, thanks Qt 🤞🏽

I get Maya's perspective. Especially if you don't really know a lot of the background and beef between them, and are getting a crash course in the span of an hour. QT did great. There were a couple parts where she misspoke, or missed something, but it was fine. She got there in the end. My perspective is that Drake kept poking the hornet's nest, like he wasn't sure what would happen. Kendrick has a DAMN Pulitzer for a reason. He warned Drake to leave it as a somewhat friendly beef, and Drake pushed it.

She completely missed the part about him announcing to the world that he has a 11 year old daughter no one knew about. Hey QT. Im a big lyrical Rap fan also. If you havent yet, check out NF, his last like 3 albums for me are crazy. there is a recommended listening order cause he is super big on common metaphors and stories through the songs it gets kinda wild to follow along with. and easter eggs also which are super fun. Also tech n9ne. Might be a little out there as far as what you might listen to but tech has been doing rap since like the 80s/90s and also collabs with all kinds of people. he has some wild lyrical stuff thats super cool and hes a chopper. (aka can rap real fucking fast) .
