The consequences of being bitten by a Hunter infected is that often times, they become a "were" of the progenitor's species...If that individual proceeds to bite another, they pass on the "were" of the original, not of their own species.

So, in this example, a shark biting a coyote would turn them into a wereshark. If they proceeded to bite another that person would become a wereshark as well.

For the most part, a Hunter infected will turn back to "normal" after they successfully hunt an uninfected. But quickly find themselves revert to their were form as their sexual appetite deepens.
