In Response to Patreon and Gumroad Policy Changes (Patreon)

First I want to give everyone some context as to what is going on. Recently, Gumroad and Patreon put out policy changes for what is described as Explicit or Sexual Content on their platforms. Gumroad has become outright hostile towards it, while Patreon has defined boundaries to what sort of content that it doesn't wish to be on it's platform, targeting specifically beastiality and incest.

These changes are not entirely surprising, neither Patreon nor Gumroad actually want to lose the revenue generated from Adult Content Creators. The issue really is the payment processors ( the Credit Card companies, Banks, and Paypal ) trying to do whatever it is they wish to do about "NSFW/EROTICA". Part of this is due to local laws in the US, oftentimes called "decency laws". You know, the ones that try to stop you from purchasing porn in your state, and fining you for being a pervert. It's obviously more involved than this, but it's the heart of the problem.

I obviously have opinions and invested feelings in this, as I am an adult content creator and digital artist that deals in 18+ gay furry erotica. I can understand why individuals might target my profession, and not necessarily out of malice, but well to do concern for whatever "well intentioned" reason or belief they might have. But at the end of the day, I am an artist. My job description is to create imagery to elicit some sort of response out of my audience. I just enjoy giving people boners, and giving them something to whack off to.

By these people doing, whatever it is they doing, they are just being kill joys, and making my life all the harder to what end? When they lump me in with the bestiality folks and human sex traffickers, that is doing a genuine disservice to me and the community that I've formed, and completely ignores the fact that everything I am creating is an absolute fabrication and fantasy. It also ignores the fact that we humans are sexual in nature. Like LITERALLY everything we do is to be able to have sex. 

High paying incomes, nice cars, nice stuff, nice looks, NICE THINGS, to ATTRACT MATES? Ya? Ya? Obviously it's only part of the equation, but we are highly motivated by sex, so the clear denial of it by censoring it, is eye rolling to say the least.

Anyways, so here are my current plans

For Gumroad:

I'm just shutting it down, and unpublishing everything. No point in even risking it at this juncture. If you bought things from my store, you should be able to still download them.

For Patreon:

Patreon is a bit trickier. For now, I am going to let them flag the works that need to be taken down, then I will remove the problems as they arise. If Patreon continues to grow increasingly hostile towards NSFW Content, I will deal with it at that point.

SUBSCRIBESTAR and itch.io are two platforms I am currently looking into. I've already set up a new SUBSCRIBESTAR Page, so you're welcome to give that a look, especially if you've already been looking for an alternative to Patreon. 

I'm not so certain about Itch.io quite yet, so give me some time to look into it more. I have also heard about other alternatives that are coming around as well, but they are not currently available yet.
