I normally don't write progress reports because no news is good news but this one isn't exactly a progress report.

TLDR: I'm changing the release schedule from 2500 lines of dialogue every month to 1500 lines every two weeks. I know some like bigger updates so I'll be leaving the update patches up longer for those that want to grab every second update. Individual updates will be 40% smaller but you'll get 20% more content per month.

Non-TLDR: I've had a streak of bad luck lately. In June, I got COVID. Then I got laid off, then I lost my apartment and without a job I couldn't get another one. I've been living in my car since the 28th. The plan was to spend July in my car to try to find a job and if that doesn't work out, move back to my hometown, stay with my parents and try to do Grandma's House full time.

The plan didn't work out, it's been hot as hell lately. I think the coolest temperature's we got was about 32C/90F. Considering I don't have a high school diploma and there's more unemployment than employment around here these days, I haven't been able to find job. And the heat pretty much killed me, got some minor heat stroke and haven't slept more than 3-4 hours a night in a couple of weeks.

So this morning, I rented a trailer, took my stuff out of storage and left for my parents house. Got here a couple of hours ago, I'm all set up and ready to get back to work. Now I'm officially doing Grandma's House full time.

I want to make the updates bigger but finishing up the updates is the only part of making GH that I don't enjoy, at all. Having to proof and fix 2500+ lines and check and touch up 700+ renders every month is a pain in the ass. So I'll be splitting it into two updates. Instead of a 2500 line update every month, it's gonna be a 1500 line update every 2 weeks. Testing the waters for now, this might change but I feel like it's the best option for everyone.

I get that some people prefer bigger updates that are further apart so I'll be keeping the update patches uploaded for longer for the people that want to skip every other update. For people that do that, it's gonna be pretty much the same thing but with more content. For those that get every update, they'll be 40% smaller but you'll get them twice as often.

So that's pretty much it, thanks for reading if you got this far. The first smaller update will be around the 1st of August and you can expect them around the 1st and 15th of every month after that.

Dang, that is a majorly suck string of bad luck, and I hate how close so many of us are to that kind of domino effect. *knock on wood* As for the updates, I would say just do whatever works for you. I know I can't speak for everyone, but I would imagine people prefer quality over quantity. I'm curious as to how 1500 lines every two weeks is less pressure than 2500 every four, but I've not done it myself (so far) and don't know how that all works. Here's hoping your luck takes a turn for the better going forward!

Sorry to hear of you recent issues. While I love this VN (found it recently) and additional updates no matter once a month or twice a month is great, take care of yourself first.

hmmmm as i see it now how your every 2 week update scheudle goes now, probably only the 2 highest tiers benefit from getting 20% more content per month.the other tiers get only 60% of the content and paying the same money for smaller updates because your every 2 weeks scheudle now. some are may asking now why i think that now?? well look when the highest tiers get access and how many days later the second highest tier and so on gets access when the lowest tiers get access on the update almost 10 to 14 days have passed and you can not put THAT new release scheudle for all tiers in one month like that. so you probably will loose some of the lower tiers with this new every two weeks update scheudle, because they will probably think that it is a bit unfair handling on the dev side... lower tiers will need to pay for 2 month for the "20%" more content.

Everyone gets the same amount of content. The Cat's Daddy tier just gets it on the 9th and 24th instead of 1st and 15th.

Markus Hlastec

I am not daddys cat tier and i got access to the update today maybe an hour ago.so when everybody else gets access on the 1st and the 15th why i had to wait 6 more days for access?? Yeah,Yeah early acces and such but then it is not true what you say that every tier except daddys girl tier gets the update on the 1st and the 15th.

Markus Hlastec

You need to make that clear then that after release the lower tiers still have to wait the days for early access.

Moonbox

I never said that. It releases for top tier on the 1st and 15th, then for the next tier every 3 days. Everyone gets 2 updates a month for their subscription, just at different times. That's how tiered releases work. The terms are clearly laid out in the tier benefits. Shizuka's Master gets it 6 days after Allison's True Love
