I wouldn't be surprised if Alice didn't believe her; she did just find out that nearly everything she was told was a lie and it doesn't matter (or at least it wouldn't to me) that lying to Alice was what Rougina thought was "for the best" and done to "protect" her. A lie is a lie and being lied to, especially by someone you're supposed to be able to put 100% of your trust in, is pretty world shattering when you find out (as we can see from Alice's mental breakdown in previous pages).
