Damn have I been on absolute tenterhooks waiting for this totally chill and happy episode 🫡

abbey

i’ve been waiting for this one- watching this live was absolutely INSANE. one of the best episodes of tv i have ever seen. sarah snook (shiv) was SO amazing this episode. i was sobbing so hard at all the siblings reactions 😭😭

Briana J

Oh God here we go. Love how this was called Connor's wedding given everything that happened.

Ash W

Sarah, Kieran, and Jeremy truly left no crumbs with this one.

Watching Logan Roy die on Easter Sunday was mind altering

here we go again folks...

I remember when season 4 was airing, I kept getting the feeling Logan would die in episodes 1 and 2 of this season. His death was always imminent because of the show being called Succession yet it was still unexpected when it happened. It was so sudden and that's how it happens, unfortunately. Some entertainment media like Vulture @ New York Magazine made parody articles announcing Logan Roy's death with a mock bio, it was cool to see how into it the media was. I'm always team kids and Sarah, Jeremy, and especially Kieran just knocked it out of the park this season moving forward. I'm glad this wasn't spoiled for you guys because, in a show with not a ton of traditional spoilers, this is probably the most difficult thing to hide from new fans lol.

Anna

I'm watching this for the first time with you guys, and the panic and anxiety that Tom's phone call caused me to feel was unreal.

see-through battle monsters

This is an all-time great episode of television. It's such an honest portrayal of that crazy, out-of-body shock and sudden grief that you feel when you get a phone call like this. The writing, acting, directing, editing, all of it just completely nailed it.

abbey

just a few facts about this episode- the hug between shiv, roman, and kendall at the end was unscripted, the sequence of the siblings finding out logan died was a 30 minute long take, when kendall goes to find shiv jeremy strong wasn’t told where she was so he actually had to look for her. everyone on the cast and crew were amazing this episode!!

Ailish

An entire episode focusing around a death like this can be hard to pull off but they nailed it 😭 Probably one of the best portrayals of that kind of thing, just after The Body (BtVS) and The Quarterback (Glee) in my opinion.

I think it's interesting to have him die this early in the season bc the show is called succession after all. Also I think now more than ever we're actually going to see the siblings have to deal with what's next without their dad and who gets the "crown". Idk but I have a feeling it might be one of the last times we see them close this episode bc after this they're going to have to go against each other and it might get ugly. Anyways this was one of you guys best reaction to one of the best episode ever <3 PS: Sarah Snook deserves all the awards after this episode

This episode was a rollercoaster for sure. What I loved about this episode was that Kendall and Shiv, when talking to their father, expressed that while they can't forgive him and there's no excuses for how he treated them, they do love him. I also loved all the kids coming together, but I hated that at first they forgot to tell Connor, it just further shows the disconnect between him and the rest of his family so it makes sense that in the end he chose to marry Willa and not worry about anything else at that moment.

Heather Geer

Wow they absolutely captured the chaos of something like that so well. What an incredible and sad episode.

margo m

the long take is just so impressive to me considering they shot on film… i listened to mark mylod explain it but it still is just so beyond impressive

abbey

YES ugh mark mylod’s video breaking down the episode is so good

margo m

the second that sarah’s voice cracks and she slips into her almost child-like self, crying out for her “daddy” it just breaks me every time… she perfectly captured how something like this can completely shatter someone, and also just how complicated the feelings are… quite possibly my favorite tv performance of the year

Lily

such a realistic, raw and brave way to kill off logan so unexpectedly just 3 episodes into the season. some of the best of the best actors, everyone did the damn thing from the kids to tom, frank, karl… you felt like you were in the room with them. it’s crazy how invested and attached to the characters this show makes you. how rich the atmosphere is. i don’t know if it’s a blessing or a curse but me personally, after watching this series it’s been hard to find another tv show with this kinda quality that captures me this much, i’m super picky regardless but this fucking show is just too brilliant. they deserved all the awards

DP

You hear her call him daddy. She does revert back to being a little girl. Especially since the previous episode she called him asshole

Futuristic Girl

the fact that logan was talking about his thoughts on the afterlife in ep 1 of this season

Futuristic Girl

this episode makes me cry everytime I watch it

Larissa

Sarah Snook (Shiv) did a brilliant job. Her performance was too real and one of a kind.

cass

I’d just like to applaud this show for getting me to cry over Logan Roy’s death. Sarah Snook and Kieran Culkin’s acting in this episode break me every time.

cass

Also Connor backtracking after saying “he didn’t even like me” because he can see how upset Shiv and Ken are destroys me as well
