also the episode was so hectic my anxiety was through the roof. i feel like when the whole family is round for christmas it always ends up having a super heated moment at some point and ughhh everyone yelling in this ep just made me feel bleh, that's all i can describe it as, just bleh lol

The stress I had from this episode omg, I had to pause it a couple times

Emily

This freaking episode man and the way everybody was acting their asses off 😭 an amazing episode all around. Super excited for ep.7 that is battling w/ ep.6 as my favorite episode.

Billyjoe

this episode is insane. had me feeling so bad for sugar

Karen Wood

If Richie has a brother, they need to get Simon Rex to play him. He'd be amazing on this show and I think he's already been in a project with Ayo.

AJ

After this ep, its so easy to see why sugar is with a guy like pete. she just needed a kind, wholesome and even-tempered person. pete is so lovely lol. same with michelle and stevie!

This is literally one of the best but most chaotic episodes I have ever seen. It was great to see so many stellar actors all together for one episode and they all brought their A game. I REALLY hope we see all of them again (except Mike of course which is sad) but I know it will probably be hard to get all of these actors again but I would love to see a present day Berzatto family dinner.

AJ

It's also so sad and true how harsh mothers can be with their daughters. donna is a whole new level of mean with sugar compared to how she is with carmy or mikey

If anybody thought Jamie Lee Curtis didn’t deserve any acting awards before, you will immediately change your mind after seeing her in this. Honestly, every single performance in this is stellar. There’s something so lovable yet heartbreaking about Mikey, and Jon Bernthal just plays him so masterfully. The anxiety this episode causes is insane lol…and there’s something relatable about dysfunctional family holidays- and the realistic strained relationships you see here is unbelievable.

Andie

And I thought my family’s reunions were bad, haha. What a great episode and amazing cast. Can’t wait for your reaction to the next one.

This episode is great... but the next one "Forks" is my personal favorite.

While watching the episode I had mixed feelings about seeing so many recognizable actors. It kind of took me out of the scenes a bit. But upon this second viewing, I realize it’s just Sarah Paulson who wasn’t necessary at all here. There wasn’t anything particularly noteworthy about her character beside the fact that she invited Carmy to stay with her in NY, and Sarah didn’t play her in any special way that made me think ‘nobody else could’ve done what she just did,’ unlike Jaime Lee Curtis (who should win all of the awards). Cousin Michelle could’ve been played by any other actress and I would’ve preferred that because I every time I saw her I couldn’t get past that it was Sarah Paulson playing this minor role.

Cindy S.

True, but the same can be said about fathers and the way they parent their sons.

I have never been more stressed out by a piece of silverware. God, the trauma these adult children have from their upbringing with an alcoholic (other mental health diagnosis ?) mother, disfunction, etc. No wonder Carmy is always at a “10”, he physically looks like his whole body is humming all the time “waiting for the next shoe to drop”. Sugar is probably fearful of what kind of mother she’ll be, and will be overcompensating. She’s always fixing, nervous, trying to read her mother. Outstanding performances. This should win an award for best ensemble in an episode. The actress that plays Sydney was an executive producer on this episode, and was there for all of the filming.

Kathrine Jauregui

I feel like she wanted her sons to ask her if she was alright. For Sugar it’s a reflex, which Donna may read as insincere. Since her sons don’t ask often, she probably needs it from them. None of this is healthy of course. Donna is a fascinating, heartbreaking, frustrating character. Jamie Lee should win an Emmy for this.

This ep really made me feel like I had Succession back for an hour. Also I want to give nat the world, she's the most well-adjusted member of her family that gets chastised for caring, and whose nickname comes from a single childhood mistake. I'm so glad she has Pete.

Sallie Grimes

I was so happy that he threw the fork, I yelled "DO IT!" with my friends.. We ALL have that family member that picks on us as if we don't know our own past.. UGHHHHH stressful episode

AJ

very true about fathers/sons in some family structures. i've both seen and experienced it way more often where daughters carry the brunt of responsibility and criticism but both are true!!

Angelica

After this episode, I don’t understand how Carmy had no idea Michael was using. That’s all I could think about, besides the great acting, during this episode. Great reaction.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

I heavily disagree. I think Sarah Paulson was great and portrayed Cousin Michelle beautifully, also her chemistry with John was actually very great, Steven and Michelle were so cute and endearing that it made me want to see more of their relationship with each other outside the family drama. Michelle to me served as a way for us to see you actually CAN get away from the family and prosper and not feel stuck, she lives in NY and is thriving and has a great relationship but you also can’t truly escape the family you were born into and those Berzatto family traits (like overreacting to simple little remarks) stays with you because of her whole story about the lady talking to her about Bears, she says that she wanted to fight the lady but then Steven (who isn’t a Berzatto) was able to tell that she was actually the one that was being ridiculous in that story and not the other girl. Sarah played that wonderfully and brought more Berzatto flare to the table, as of the ACTUAL blood Berzatto’s lol. Like I said I think ALL actors brought their A game, I literally wouldn’t swap out anyone of them, and I hope we get to see more of them in the future.

the mother-daughter relationship is so extremely nuanced and they represented it so well between donna and natalie, especially with the way donna treats nat trying to help her versus her patience with carmy and mike. even the nickname ‘sugar’ you expect to be an endearing memory between her and her mom or just because nat is the nicest person ever but it’s actually a subtle way of laughing at nat and almost calling her incompetent
