I just need to put this out there because it bugged me: YiSeo is a grown woman. she's not a child and she's old enough to know whether she's in love with someone or not. sure, there's a 10-year age gap but who cares? you can't help who you fall in love with and unless there's a problem with inability to consent (like someone who is underage), there's literally no problem with it as far as I'm concerned. yes, it's unrequited love but it's not unheard of for someone to fall in love with a person and not have that love be returned. anyway, that's my 2 cents for what it's worth. thanks for the reaction guys! :)

The age gap is not a big deal as long as both people are grown. It’s not like you can only fall in love/be with people your same age so I definitely feel bad for yi-seo because I think we all have been in that situation where feelings are not reciprocated. It’s tough

that ending...WHEW it got me good i cried alongside my girl yiseo!!! i could really feel her emotions. someone announcing the fact that you like someone unexpectedly, the feeling of rejection and the feeling of pouring your heart out with a love confession 😭😭😭 as a girl OOF the ending got me BAD.

and omfg i wanted to punch geun soo so bad for what he did 😭 he had the AUDACITY

I definitely don’t agree with the comments saying the age gap isn’t a big deal at this point. It’s less about the age gap and more about how at 20-21 year old you’ve just entered adulthood and are in a completely different life stage compared to a 30 year old! Not super relevant in this drama I guess considering Saeroyi has been basically stuck in the same mindset for 10 years but LOL

People need to get off this age gap train. I don't understand how people can still be so against age gap relationships in this day and age. She's not underage. She wasn't groomed. Love is love. Time to get used to these things happening. Besides, it's not like they're together. She has a one sided romantic interest in him. You can't really control how you feel about someone. He's not reciprocating those feelings. There shouldn't be even an issue about dating someone older or younger when it's not even happening. She can like whoever she wants.

I agree, it's not always necessarily immoral but it can definitely be creepy. I'm 30 and if one of my friends started dating a 20 year old he would get so much shit for it. I can't help but feel like a lot of people saying it's not a big deal are too young to grasp how much of a difference there is between age groups even if you're both adults. When you're 18-21 it can be so easy to think you're the special mature one who can have a real relationship with a 30 year old, the same way 16 year olds in school thought it was cool to date the 23 year old with a car, but when you're 30 the idea of wanting to even hang around with 20 year olds feels creepy as hell

I'm 35. I don't see anything wrong with being friends with or possibly making a closer connection with adults of any age. Not everything needs to be creepy. You bond with people who have like hobbies or like thoughts. I'm part of a table top gaming group, I play games online, I am part of forums that talk about creative writing and commentary on films and shows and the new pokemon game coming out....etc. etc. etc. I see myself as a mentor sometimes, sometimes an older sibling, and sometimes a mentee, but there are incredibly mature young adults that can have very thought provoking conversations that I'm not embarrassed to call friends. Different perspectives shouldn't be dismissed just because you don't like them.

i'm 30 and i have friends in their 20s and 40s that i met when we were all in college together. i think looking at romantic relationships critically is one thing but to say "but when you're 30 the idea of wanting to hang around with 20 year olds feels creepy as hell" is a weird take. i went to a university where everyone was mostly over the age of 20. but you had 22 year olds hanging out with 30 year olds, even 40 and 50 year olds in their study groups and grabbing coffee and befriending them. some of my close friends and some of the closest friendships i've had in my life were 5 years younger than me because i went back to school late. yes someone in their 30s romantically persuing like a 20 year old is a bit...hmm. but to say you can't even have friendships of varying ages is kind of a weird take imo.

I don't get the issue with an age gap relationship, she's not underage and we're in 2023. I know a lot of people with 10 years or more of age differences dating each other and i see no problem with it... At this point i can't understand the hate for this ship...

Really loving the reactions, Park Seo Joon is one of my fav actors and i hope you guys check him out in other stuff in the future. Kill Me Heal Me is where i got to know him and it's a great drama so i'm throwing that suggestion on your way too. :)

Ah, I meant to add as well since you seemed confused; the grandmother was upset with the father because she saw he had purchased coal briquettes. In Korea, burning coal briquettes (romanized 'yeontan') in a closed off space is a common way for many to unalive themselves. As you may or may not know, the act of unaliving ones self is an endemic in korea, as well as many asian countries. Financial burden or shame being the main reason in many cases.

It's funny to me that Seroyi is mostly stoic and serious in this kdrama, when Park Seo Joon, the actor who plays him, is known for his goofy comedic roles. Honestly Itaewon is pretty mid for me (still like the reactions). Other Park Seo Joon dramas like Fight For My Way or What's Wrong with Secretary Kim nail the rom-com genre so much better and are hilarious.
