At some point either on or off the channel you guys should check out boiling point it's a one take movie about a chef with a similar hectic vibe - it's phenomenal one of my fave movies of 2021

On second thoughts another experience of this might just kill Rob off...

I was tense the whole time whilst watching this episode. I’m too sensitive to be shouted at like that sorry. I’d be out the door running immediately after the 3rd order printed.

Aya

I’ve worked in a mom and pop environment like this in new york and the accuracy in this episode is crazy. Even down to Tina bringing in her son to work and they just throwing him in to be trained. That stuff actually happens 🤣 this episode is so triggering lol

Sydney stabbing Richie was so good. idc idc. I love their dynamic. lmao.

Also, there’s a movie called Boiling Point you should watch. It’s one take and takes place in a restaurant. Stars one of the best actors Stephen Graham.

I am Sydney’s #1 defender!! Richie got what he deserved

sophie

lmao same anytime voices are raised I’m just 🥲🥲

The anxiety this episode causes 😂 I love Sydney and she is super talented/ a big asset to them, but my issue with her at least in this ep is that she doesn’t want to take responsibility when she’s actually wrong, even if it is rare that she is lol. Nothing is ever her fault which is just not a great way to try and lead a kitchen. Poor Carmy lol…the pressure he must have felt!

Mykala

This was such a wild episode! Side note - that opening was a beautiful tribute to Chicago 🤍

This episode was one take btw. The cuts you guys kept seeing was because this show was on FX so it was meant to have AD breaks so it looks odd for people on Hulu without ads. But it’s still one single take and flows as one if there were no breaks inserted

I didn't take notice of the running time prior to watching this episode. By the time it was over I literally said "whoa!" because it felt to me like only 5 minutes had passed. They knocked that one out of the park.

As much as I feel that Richie had it coming, it was still hard to hear Sydney going after him like that. But by that point she had clearly reached her own breaking point. The song "Mad Woman" immediately came to mind: 'there's nothing like a mad woman / What a shame she went mad / No one likes a mad woman / You made her like that / And you'll poke that bear 'til her claws come out'

Ashley K

I agree. I like her but also hate her attitude and too sassy for my tolerance lol

Ashley K

If I was Carmy, I definitely would've lost my shit too. Marcus not knowing how to time manage and prioritize anything other than the damn donut; Sydney undermining him and giving the risotto to a customer who happened to be a reviewer after clearly being told it's not ready to be served, then brings the idea of using the tablet (which is great) but doesn't set it properly which created a chaos with pre-orders AND who's supposed to be his "right-hand-girl" to help manage the kitchen, decides to engage on such a big day by arguing and shit talk to Richie, who was being his ordinary self like any other day, decides to stab him and then frickin walk out. GEEZUS the anxiety and frustration from this episode... done ranting now lol.

Maybe Carmy should have listened when Sydney tried to tell him she wasn’t ready. Or that the setup wasn’t ready. She wanted to get him on the same page and he brushed her off.

Carmy is to blame too. I know he’s some people’s bby boy but come on. You’re the head chef. It’s your responsibility.

Ashley K

yeah he definitely could've managed them better up to this point but just in that crucial moment I really felt his frustration is what I'm saying.

Plzdont

Carmy is definitely to blame for the final blow up tho. As the head he sets the tone and pace for the entire kitchen. Sydney wasn’t intentional in her mistakes and she was still trying to be productive until Carmy…did the thing. This episode made me tired

Kody Walker

Her passive-aggressive breakdown of what a restaurant is at the 7:15 mark is a decent example of her sassiness (unnecessary sassiness at that). Richie is a clown & its best to just ignore people like that, not put on a sarcastic voice and stoop down to their level. Also, the chaos is entirely Sydney's fault by leaving on the pre-order option. "Getting on the same page" with Carmy wouldn't have fixed that screw up. Nothing would have fixed it really other than cancelling all the pre-orders, apologizing to those customers, and then only accepting new orders as they come in. Quitting after 10 minutes and then leaving Carmy to clean up her mess is pretty immature.

Meg

This was the most stressful episode BY FAR 😭 I am not okay

Monica

She was only being sarcastic to match the way Richie was talking down to her. Also once Camry yelled in her face to move, she had every right to leave at that exact moment. She made a mistake with the pre-orders, but I'm guessing Michael probably would've came up with a better solution then yelling at everyone to move and cook faster when that situation was impossible to fix anyway.
