LMFAO it's so funny how lost you guys are because this show gets crazy really fast. The first two episodes of this season are kind of slow but the next one is when things really go left. I hope you guys stick it out because season 2 is much more fast paced.

This season is definitely a bit of a slow burn and then everything just turns really chaotic after the 3rd and 4th episodes, but the anxiety you guys feel is for sure a common theme throughout. I really like s1 but I cannot wait for you guys to get to s2!

it's not that you're not getting things, but i don't know if you're appreciating the humor in a lot of the awkward scenes haha. mike white has avery specific cynical sense of humor, especially when it comes to wealthy people on vacation. it's very biting social satire. love his writing. tanya is so funny to me and really all of them arebeing made fun of the whole time practically. and the musical score and the awkward interactions are definitely meant to keep building tension until the later episodes. so just wait haha

Lol guys if you’re still confused, I would recommend watching the last few minutes of each episode on your own time, as each actor goes into how they’re characters are feeling in the episode. It kind of explains the humor and satire of the show that are going over the viewers heads. It’s supposed to be a satire on entitled rich people on vacation and all the awkward and weird interactions they go through in social settings. The first few episodes of this season are definitely weird I felt the same way when I started but it got so much better, I loved the mystery behind it. 😭

Mike White was really open about the "murder mystery" aspect of the show being a requirement from HBO to get people hooked. The show's main purpose has always been to serve as a social commentary on different archetypes of people in our modern age. I think the chaotic and anxiety-inducing tone of the editing/music reflect our society in the 2020s so well. The show explores the relationship between the upper class and the rest of the world (particular those in service jobs), as well as certain dynamics in familial and romantic relationships. I also love how both seasons portray many characters and things in our culture as different shades of GREY, instead of black and white.
