I love the introduction of The Original Family. I didn’t know what to expect and I am pleasantly surprised. I didn’t have any clue what they would look like but I have to say…perfect casting because they look like a genuine family. The Originals are one of my favorite aspects of the storyline so far. I really like the dynamics between them and Stefan and Damon. I also love the other side of Klaus that we see when it involves his siblings and more extensively, his mother. He softens and we get a hint of his humanity. The end is sad. Elena calling Damon is definitely symbolism for where her hurt is despite the lies she tells herself. I liked that Damon didn’t answer BUT I don’t think Stefan should have to be the guy to be like “I love her” to his own brother..and his brother shouldn’t be comfortable with the fact that this is a situation he invited. Damon isn’t the only one to blame though..definitely takes two to tango. I love good acting because a million words were said by Paul’s face when he saw Elena’s call on his brothers phone. If anything, I love the brotherly dynamic and I love those moments but the fact that there’s a Damon and Elena thing brewing, ruins the possibility of how much of that we can get before being like “Oh well I mean this guy isn’t that good of a brother by falling in love with his brothers gf”. Two brothers in love with the same girl. Things are about to get rocky. I can see it now. At this point, even though I believe Stefan and Elena are soulmates, I think he deserves better. Ian himself, has a reasonable outlook on his character…from the Caroline perspective and what his character did to her etc.. when it comes to Jeremy and stupid things he’s done. I remember him saying something about how his character was a complete idiot for killing Jeremy but somehow, the audience forgives him lmao. He was absolutely dumbfounded by the fact that the audience makes excuses for Damon and he said “and somehow they justify everything he does. Oh he was in a bad mood…He killed her brother! What an idiot”. In my opinion, the stuff he did to Caroline is unforgivable and him killing Jeremy is unforgivable as well. He didn’t know Jeremy had a ring. I mean that is what happens when an attractive actor plays a horrible character. I love Ian as an actor and his sensible takes on his own character and the writing. There is no one who is a bigger fan of Stefan and Stefan and Elena than Ian himself. He’s hilarious and that’s why I enjoy his commentary. I would love to see more of Damon and Bonnie. I remember the scene where they were dancing together at the decades dance and they have great chemistry. I wish we got Damon and Bonnie on screen together more often but I also think Bonnie and Jeremy would have been perfect if Jeremy didn’t cheat on her. :/ Can’t wait to watch the next episode. I want to see more Original sibling scenes lol. I also want more Abby. I love that we get to see inside of Bonnie’s life. I love the addition of her mother and I want that to develop more. I think this show is missing the exploration of Bonnie’s character. She’s one of the strongest..if not strongest character (witches hold the supernatural world in balance) on this show with so much to explore within her storyline but the writers are often like “the vampires need help so let’s bring Bonnie back after weirdly keeping her out of the show for a few episodes”. I like that we’re seeing more of her and getting her mother into the storyline after killing off Grams.

I've never understood why Klaus doesn't make a deal with Elena where he'll keep her safe in return for a unit of blood every few months. That way he can keep making hybrids and she stays alive.
