The scene with Mikael and Klaus at the doorstep was powerful. There’s so much pain there and I really loved the acting between the two actors who are showcasing characters who have a history of hatred (in the case of Mikael) and pain (in the case of Klaus) between them. I also loved Katherine calling Damon and their moment that they shared. No matter how much she runs from her humanity, like she told Stefan, it comes through. Speaking of Stefan, he’s really my favorite character for so many reasons. I just love the dynamic of that familial bond and how his love for Damon always comes to the surface..well it never seems to leave which is beautiful. I also loved Katherine telling him that he has to care. That and the car scene where she doesn’t run from the fact that she loves both of them was wonderful. She didn’t want Stefan or Damon to die. I’m excited for this switch with Stefan. Get angry and be resentful of the man who stole your life from under you. Anger is the emotion that’s so easy to feel and if I’m reading the scene correctly, since Stefan has his freedom now…he is starting to allow in some of his humanity? (Correct me if I’m wrong anyone). I understand him wanting to run from it because if you run, you don’t have to face the pain but I really enjoyed Katherine telling him that he has to get angry. I also thought it was touching how she said that she didn’t want him to be killed. Sigh, Klaus deserves his anger. He’s ruined so much for Stefan. On another note, I feel bad for Tyler. I’m not liking the aspect of a sire bond because the sired individual has a forced heightened bond with their sire that makes them feel like their life’s purpose has been fulfilled and the connection is seemingly deeper than any platonic or romantic relationship. It is ruining Tyler’s friendships as well as his relationship with Caroline. Yeah, I don’t like the idea of a sire bond. :/ I understand Tyler’s pov and Caroline’s but it makes me sad that this is Tyler’s character direction. The Rebekah scene tells us so much about the girl behind the vampiric element. I love learning more about her (and her family) and I felt bad when she was temporarily staked..well I hope only temporarily. Although, I do get the reason behind it. Great episode! 💕🫶🏽
