About the whole London thing, it’s set in the uk which is they can drive to London, they just speak German since the author of the book and the production is in German.

This show takes place in England and all the characters are English. They just speak German bc it was produced in Germany and based on German novels. Kind of like we have shows that take place in Germany like JoJo rabbit where they should speak German but they speak English bc it's American made. Side note: the dad received a spinal injury when ran over by the boat making him paralyzed from the waist down. They never explain who pulled her out of the water.

I think in her vulnerability he sees her strength. He realizes how much she has been through and yet she is so strong and driven. His vulnerability and "sweet" side is what causes her attraction to start and for him it is her strength an determination through all her struggles that attracts him. She makes him believe in himself and he makes her feel seen.

Ok,Great Britain is separated from the rest of Europe by the English Channel and you can go across through the "Chunnel". But I'm pretty sure that even though this is in German (language), it is supposed to fully take place in Great Britain. To go from Germany to London by car would be at least 7 or 8 hours of driving.
