I love Damon’s line when he says “I’m shocked, Stefan’s not a virgin?” Damon and Elena’s banter is so funny throughout of this episode. They have my favorite dynamic in the show. I also love how Damon asked if Elena is okay, even though he was tortured by klaus the whole time. Elena was clearly in denial that Stefan was capable of being evil, and Damon showing the list of victims was a harsh reminder. This is where we see Stefan and elena officially break up. It’s also so messed up of klaus to dagger his sister for years, and treat her like property man. Klaus is so freaking wild. 😭

Damon and klaus interaction is so iconic, considering how similar they are. When damon said "oh honey I’ve been called worse,” gets me every time. I just love how bold and fearless damon is, knowing that klaus is stronger than him. He’s so brave and that’s what I love about him. he does not back down from a challenge, no matter what.

The 1920s was so iconic and Stefan and klaus being besties is everything,REBEKAH my girl is here, idk what Damon and Elena were thinking like obviously he wasn’t gonna be able to just leave with them and idk why neither of them weren’t thinking that Elena not being dead would cause problems with klaus’s plan.klaus daggering his siblings and just carrying them around is crazy🤣but he has a very unique way of showing his love for his siblings lmaoo

Katherine was stalking Stefan for years, i am pretty sure. She always knew where the brothers were but she only really stalked Stefan. It's so funny how everyone chooses Stefan! Klaus, Rebekah, Elena, Katherine etc. Oh and Klaus disliking Damon! Klaus is me, I am Klaus! 🤣 I still don't know what Elena and Damon were doing. They know Stefan can't come back. It doesn't matter what they do. They have to get rid of Klaus, which no one can! Like where is the logic. I love Rebekah! and Poor Caroline! She deserves so much better.

I've always seen it as them wanting him to come home and they'd all take on Klaus together. Because that's exactly what they would have done anyway had Damon not been bitten. Remember at the funeral Damon said they need to come up with a plan to deal with Klaus now. Stefan didn't have a choice but to leave with Klaus, but now he does. He CAN walk away as Damon is cured. Of course there would be consequences, but the choice is to stand up and fight or meekly go along with whatever he says. Where is the line?

It's not that shocking for the time period. Today---yes somewhat. Back then---no. And just because Bill is gay doesn't make him exempt from hatred, bigotry or even self-hatred. Unfortunately a lot of homosexual people struggled with that and often would attack other gay people as a way of making themselves feel better. I think it still happens today, but maybe not to the extent of back then. I think this is actually a pretty realistic take on conversion therapy.

So agree. The three guys sometimes seem uncomfortable or confused by Damon's humor. I guess it is very much of that time. I personally think it's great. The writers wrote some spectacular one-liners for him.

Because there is nothing they can do against him now. They don’t even have a plan. What’s stopping Klaus from killing any of them immediately? The reason Stefan is alive so far is because Klaus has a soft spot for him. Damon and Elena are risking their lives and making everything worse. Both could have died this episode. And then Stefan’s sacrifice for them means nothing. I want to say more but can’t because of spoilers.

Yeah I guess you can consider her maybe naive, or oblivious to Stefan’s dark nature. She definitely didn’t want to believe that Stefan was ever a monster.

REBEKAH!!! Fun fact: Claire Holt who plays her is Australian and was on the mermaid show H2O: Just Add Water. She's also appeared in Pretty Little Liars and starred alongside Mandy Moore in the shark thriller 47 Meters Down. Poor Caroline 💔 I never realised the allegory for conversion therapy with her and her dad. Makes you think the writers did it on purpose to have the only gay character do that.

They don’t do a great job of thoroughly thinking through and crafting plans on this show…specifically Damon and Elena. Nothing has changed since the last time Stefan said to leave and forget him. He has to say that. What else is he going to say or do? He can’t just leave. Where is he going to run to with his brother and girlfriend lol? Klaus will kill all of them. It’s simple and again, Stefan is the martyr of all martyrs. To keep his girlfriend and brother alive, he has to completely disregard and destroy this life he has with Elena and Damon and everyone else in Mystic Falls. Imagine that feeling of having to emotionally hurt someone you care for because their life is the ultimate showing of your love for them. Elena won’t understand it because she’s human but you would hope that she learns to identity exactly why Stefan was doing this in the first place. Damon was being weird as always. Always popping into Elena’s room without her permission and there’s no natural boundary that he respects. Lol why is he showing up and appearing in her bed? That’s still your brothers girlfriend and even if she wasn’t, that’s weird dude. Despite Damon’s weird behavior toward Elena and how I will always dislike the idea of them together, I like his scenes with other characters like Stefan and Bonnie (when she’s actually around 🙄 come on writers) in particular. Still not a Damon fan. Speaking of Bonnie, we want her back! The writers have a thing for ignoring her character for episodes and then bringing her back to be used by vampires. I loved the flashbacks and since being introduced to Rebekah, I can tell she will be an interesting and charming character. The Originals add such a great dynamic to this entire story. I loved the scene where Stefan finds Elena in the secret room in his old Chicago apartment. Just another instance that showcases that he’s only doing all of this to keep Elena alive and he would rather exit her life than have her life taken. The ultimate showing of love. Stefan tries to save everyone around him but never tries to save himself. Good people always pick others overs themselves. Those Caroline scenes were tough. Really tough and you can’t excuse those actions. I think Caroline and Tyler are so cute together but I feel like Tyler feels so removed from everyone except for Caroline. I would like to see more of the friendship between him and everyone else since they all grew up together and are friends.

i mean one wants to believe their significant other is something they would least expect, but i think by saying that, you’re kind of implying that deep down, she knew all along when i don’t think that’s the case. she just genuinely never really saw this side of him so her immediately being in denial is sensical. not necessarily her not wanting to believe. you understand what im saying?
