this is where we see the tension that is growing between damon and elena. Especially during the necklace scene, the way they gazed at each other made my heart melt. You can tell how much Damon loves elena, by the way he looked at her when he placed the necklace on her. They looked like they were definitely about to kiss during that intimate moment. Not to mention, they also looked like a couple when they walked out together in the party. My delena heart can’t handle this episode.

I also laughed so hard when damon walked out butt naked in front of elena. He has no tact or shame, this is one of things I love most about damon. It’s also noticeable how much Damon regretted yelling at Elena, but this was what Elena needed to hear since she was in denial that the victims were Stefan’s. He withheld the truth, so elena wouldn’t be hurt when they couldn’t find him. btw, Stefan's humanity is still on, even though damon thinks it's off.

Yeah, well Damon was also telling himself as much as Elena that it's hopeless to keep tracking Stefan. In fact, I think he was even more hurt/pissed for himself in that moment and he just let it all come out. Then when he realized it hurt Elena, he was instantly regretful.

The best season imo! I'm not at all a Stelena shipper but I do love that scene at the end between the two of them. Ship wars aside, for Stefan's character and humanity he needed that more than anything in that moment

Loving s3! Stefan doesn’t want to simply be left alone with Klaus. He is trying to stop both Damon and Elena from getting killed (which they will if they keep following him). Meaning his sacrifice (becoming the monster he loathes) will all be for nothing since the whole point was saving Damon’s life.

RIPPAH STEFAN!!! He is so scary but you can see he's really struggling. Paul Wesley honestly does such an amazing job at playing this side of the character. That ending scene with Stefan and Elena on the phone is one of my favourite scenes EVER and I became obsessed with that song (A Drop in the Ocean by Ron Pope). Poor Alaric as well 💔 And then we have horny Caroline & Tyler, his crazy mother, Jeremy seeing ghosts of girlfriends' past and Bonnie nowhere to be seen since she's not needed for some witch stuff 🤣

Welcome to S3, most people's favorite season of the show. Even though I don't ship Stelena, the ending scene to this episode is my favorite scene of theirs EVER. Also I LOVED the scene of Damon giving Elena the necklace for her birthday, its a really sweet scene.

Delena fit well and deserve each other (because Stefan deserves so much better than Elena imho). It's just a bit icky that all this flirting and tension is building up whilst Stefan is gone with the villain because he literally sacrified himself to save Damon's life. It would've been better if they had made Stefan and Elena break up mutually before all this.

This is dumbest Delena moment, they are tracking Stefan and Klaus without a plan, they act like “let’s just convince him to come with us” like Klaus will just let him, it’s so nerve racking I didn’t resist lol I’m already on episode 5 hahaha

Exactly. Stefan deserves so much better. I really can’t get into how Stefan is gone with Klaus because he wanted to save his brother and his brother is repaying him like this. It’s literally the start of the season and I’m already like ew so gross.

The end of this episode really got me. Stefan is always the martyr..except he’s already dead but in many ways, he’s experienced many deaths emotionally. Seeing human blood destroy him slowly is heartbreaking because it’s a monster he unleashed because he doesn’t want to see Damon or Elena dead. The end of the episode shows that there’s a part of him hanging on and it’s painful for him to see himself become less “human” in sacrifice for the lives of his love ones. Klaus is an Original who is also a hybrid. There’s nothing that Stefan can do. Klaus would kill him as well as Damon and Elena once he finds out she is alive. He just has to obey. Not liking the direction this is going in because I can see how the writers are closing in on Damon and Elena with the tension between both characters. Stefan is out there destroying himself as the lap dog for Klaus so that Damon can live and there’s still that selfishness with Damon where he can’t help himself with Elena. I know that Damon is angry with the circumstances especially with the death of Andie but Damon should know better. Of course Stefan isn’t keeping in contact with you, Elena, or anyone he cares about. Damon should be smart enough to connect the dots and realize that Stefan is trying to keep him alive still and how unleashing that side to himself was part of the conditions to save him from the wolf bite. Damon also knows that deep down, he doesn’t want Stefan back because he’s in love with Elena so there’s a lot to unpack there. Finally, the scene with Stefan and Elena on the phone at the end is one of my favorites so far. Elena kinda sucks and Stefan deserves a lot better but I love the scene. It’s a man conveying a million words and emotions without saying one. Not digging how Bonnie is not in the picture unless she’s being used for vampire activity and or for others to do dumb stuff to hurt her. That’s very annoying. I’m liking the Tyler and Caroline dynamics. I hope they can figure it out.

Also Jeremy is looking good. He always does but season 3 Steven McQueen is chefs kiss. I want to see him and Bonnie together again…I just really love their scenes together. The writers having Bonnie away is 🙄.

I can probably give Elena a little slack because she literally just turned 18 and Damon has been 25 for over 150 years lol but I think that I’m not an Elena fan because of how she clearly has feelings for Damon as well. Her kissing him was wrong even if she thought he was going to die. In my opinion, she kissed him in the finale because she wanted to and not just because she thought it was his final hour. She’s in a relationship so that’s wrong no matter what. Damon does deserve most of the blame though for not respecting the boundary of her being Stefan’s gf and also because he’s freaking 25 in human years while having been an adult for generations. Like at least Stefan has been 17 forever so yeah I don’t believe she deserves all the blame. I did love the moment at the end between her and Stefan in this episode, but I don’t completely buy it.
