Hi!
I've made a lot of progress in the graphical department (like a LOT lot). I've been thinking about what to show you guys this time without showing too much, and I settled on showing Vuu and Rose's chibis (what they look like while exploring). I already showed Vuu's idle pose last time, and here is the rest:
I put a lot of effort in making the chibis look dynamic and expressive, and I'd say I succeded, I'm really happy with the result! :D
Other than that, I'm also done with the areas design, with only maybe a few specific pieces needed depending on what puzzles I come up with while designing the demo's areas. I don't think I mentionned this before, but you will be able to explore a town and a dungeon in the demo, I'll show more about this another time.
I also did :
- a bunch of NPCs
- about 15 new shapes. I never said this before, but shapes can take pretty much any form, so there are a few strange ones in there (peacock, hive, car...)
- more than 70 items, some of which are dropped by monsters, only available in stores, found in the wild, created through alchemy...
- a few new UI elements, like the transparency button
And I think that pretty much sums it up! I even designed a new character, which I might finish before the next update if I feel like it, we'll see.
The only things left I know I need to draw next are 3 important NPC portrait (2 merchants and 1 alchemist), and that's it! After that, I'll have to code new spells, new shapes behaviors, exploration objects, and a few improvements here and there. Then, compose some songs (I'll do my best) and sfx, implement all of that, design the town and dungeon maps, test all of it, and done!
Still easier said than done, but I'm getting closer and closer to the demo release (the 2$ tier release at least, everyone else gets it 2 weeks later).
I was only able to go this fast thanks to a 2 weeks holidays, but I'll work again soon, so progress speed will go back to usual by next time.
Q: So far it seems that the clothing on most monster girls stretch as they grow. Will that be the case for all of them, or will some of them have cloth ripping/buttons popping/armor breaking as they grow?
A: This is really on a case by case basis, often I like for the clothes to stretch to the limit only to be barely able to contain everything, but even then I try to have a little something that makes every monster girl unique in the BE aspect. Other times yes, clothes will rip or change, even though I haven't done too much of that yet. For example, the alien's suit's zipper is forced open little by little, and Saen'Liz has some stuff going on that I haven't shown yet. In fact, I'm surprised I haven't had any clothes rip so far, it seems so obvious in retrospect, but I guess I always had some other idea in mind... I'll have to fix that :)
And so that is it for now, see you! :D
